Glenn Beck argued that President Donald Trump’s foreign policy moves over the past two years should be viewed as pieces of a single strategy aimed at securing the Western Hemisphere against growing Chinese and Russian influence.

Beck pointed first to Greenland, where the United States, Denmark and Greenland are set to sign a new security agreement expanding the U.S. military presence on the strategically important Arctic island.

Trump has described the agreement as giving Washington permanent security access, while Danish and Greenlandic officials have stressed that Greenland’s sovereignty and right to self-determination remain intact.

“Greenland announced that the United States now has permanent control over the security of Greenland. Denmark has agreed, Greenland has agreed. The three governments sign off on it at the United Nations this week,” Beck said.

He argued that Trump’s interest in Greenland was always primarily strategic rather than territorial.

“He never wanted the deed. He wanted the Arctic. He wanted the shipping lanes open at the top of the world and being able to say to China and Russia, Those are ours,” Beck said.

The agreement is expected to allow an expanded American military footprint and prevent non-NATO adversaries from establishing military bases on Greenland.

Beck then turned to the Panama Canal, arguing that Trump also moved quickly to reduce Chinese influence around another critical trade route.

“A Hong Kong company ran the ports on both ends of the Panama Canal, so China controlled the access between the two between the two oceans,” Beck said.

Panama’s Supreme Court ruled in January that a contract held by Panama Ports Company, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison, violated the country’s constitution.

The decision voided the company’s long-running port concession and was widely viewed as a setback for Chinese commercial influence in Panama.

“Then Panama’s own Supreme Court threw the contract out as unconstitutional; Panama seized both ports, Beijing threatened a heavy price, Panama didn’t blink. China’s out,” Beck said.

He also cited Venezuela as another piece of what he views as a larger effort to secure energy supplies in the Americas.

“In Venezuela, in January, American forces took Nicolás Maduro out of Caracas and flew him to New York to face trial. He’s in jail,” Beck said.

Reuters has reported that Maduro was removed from power earlier this year and that U.S. companies are now pursuing new energy deals in Venezuela, including negotiations involving ExxonMobil and other firms.

Beck tied those developments to political changes across South America, arguing that voters in several countries have moved toward governments emphasizing security, market-oriented economics and stronger relations with Washington.

“Argentina elected Milei. Chile just elected Kast over a communist by 16 points. In Bolivia, the socialist party that ran the country for almost 20 years won only two seats.

Ecuador stayed right, Peru went right,” Beck said.

Colombia also shifted right in 2026 with the election of Abelardo De La Espriella, who ran on a law-and-order platform and closer cooperation with the United States.

“Trump didn’t cast those votes; people cast those votes. People vote for what they see working, and for the first time in a generation the model in this hemisphere is coming from Washington instead of Havana or Caracas,” Beck said.

Beck also pointed to NATO defense spending as evidence that Trump has forced allies to assume a greater share of their security burden.

“Europe, for decades, our allies promised 2% of their economy for defense, and most of them missed it. Now NATO members have committed to 5%,” Beck said.

NATO members agreed in 2025 to a long-term target of spending 5% of GDP on defense and defense-related infrastructure by 2035, though several members remain well below that level.

Beck said the final element is economic: redirecting foreign investment toward American manufacturing and reducing dependence on overseas supply chains.

“With trade, Japan, Korea, the Gulf states, Europe, country after country have come to the table to pledge investment in American factories, trillions of dollars,” Beck said.

South Korea, for example, has agreed to a $350 billion U.S. investment package, with its first major project involving a proposed $20 billion Texas power plant.

For Beck, the individual developments should be considered together.

“Put it on the map. The Arctic in the north, the canal in the middle, the oil in the south, friendly governments from Buenos Aires to Bogotá, allies paying their own way, he’s built a fortress here in our own hemisphere,” Beck said.

He characterized the strategy as preparation for a possible period of greater global fragmentation.

“This president is preparing for something dramatic and different. I think he knows the world’s about to change, and the old world is going to go down the crapper,” Beck said.

That conclusion is Beck’s geopolitical interpretation rather than an established administration forecast.

He suggested the international system could eventually break into competing power centers, with the Western Hemisphere becoming more self-sufficient in energy, trade and security.

“I’ve never seen a president do this. You know, presidents inherit, you know, presidents manage the world they inherit. This one redrew it,” Beck said.

He acknowledged that many of the agreements and commitments remain subject to political and legislative changes.

“Now, everything’s on paper, you know, Congresses change, presidents change, Danish parliaments, all of that, they still have to vote, but if we hold what’s been built, the next 100 years are America’s to lose.”
