Trump Election Fraud Dragnet Sweeps Up Hundreds as Officials Sweat [WATCH]

The Justice Department’s election fraud crackdown has produced more than 200 arrests and indictments involving election crimes and noncitizen voting.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said the total could soon double as federal officials pursue cases across the country.

Dhillon said state and local election officials had previously been warned that they could face charges for allowing fraudulent voting activity.

“I think there are a lot of nervous election officials because I think some of them know that they’ve been looking the other way when this is happening, and we’re catching it all over the country,” she said.

Dhillon also pointed to possible developments involving New Jersey, where officials blamed a computer glitch after thousands of foreigners were registered to vote and about 400 cast ballots.

She said New Jersey was not fully cooperating with the federal inquiry.

“I’m not sure we have the correct numbers from New Jersey. They’re not really cooperating with us, and so we will get to the bottom of what happened there,” Dhillon said.

She added that the state blamed a vendor, but said she believed “there’ll be another side to that story.”

The vendor, IDEMIA, told Just the News in July that it transmits information through the New Jersey motor vehicle system.

The company said the New Jersey Department of State, Division of Elections, is ultimately responsible for validating voter information and determining eligibility.

Dhillon said her office had indicted or convicted 67 people for election-related crimes during the previous several weeks.

The Department of Homeland Security had made more than 160 arrests, according to Dhillon.

“What we care about is that non-citizens who voted in a federal election canceled out the votes of American citizens,” Dhillon said.

She said the Biden DOJ prosecuted 13 people for election-related crimes over four years, while the current Justice Department exceeded that number in one week.

Organizations on the left, including the Brookings Institution, Brennan Center for Justice, and American Immigration Council, have claimed noncitizen voting either does not happen or is extraordinarily rare.

Federal officials are now pointing to their growing stack of cases.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Fox News that his agency was investigating 1,620 voter fraud cases involving noncitizens and had made 151 arrests.

He also said the department was examining another 300,000 cases using state voter rolls.

“We’re scrubbing them. We’re comparing them to those that are in the country illegally, those that are legal permanent residents, and those that are citizens,” Mullin said.

He argued that every illegal ballot canceled the vote of a citizen who was legally registered.

The DOJ also announced charges against 16 people across seven states involving illegal voting, fraudulent registration, and other election offenses.

Prosecutors alleged that a Venezuelan national and DACA recipient voted nine times between 2008 and 2024, while a Mexican national falsely claimed U.S. citizenship and voted in Idaho.

Gladys Okafor, 56, a Nigerian national living in Massachusetts, was charged with illegally voting in the 2022 midterm elections and 2024 presidential election.

A conviction could bring up to one year in prison, one year of supervised release, a fine reaching $100,000, and possible deportation.

In Los Angeles, three people were charged with paying homeless people to sign petitions using stolen identities belonging to registered voters.

James Brass, 46, Courtney Price, 49, and Jateisha Herron, 33, were charged with conspiracy to commit identity fraud in furtherance of a state felony.

First assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said the alleged conduct damaged confidence in election systems and promised vigorous investigations.

The indictment followed an undercover investigation by independent journalist James O’Keefe, while Dhillon said the Los Angeles effort had expanded to additional identity theft indictments.

A Census Bureau brief published in August said more than 24,000 noncitizens voted in the 2020 general election, including 4,300 in California and 2,500 in Texas.

It reported “high confidence” that 128 million of 160 million votes were cast by U.S. citizens, leaving 32 million still to be analyzed.

The Justice Department previously sent notices to every state warning that election officials who allow noncitizens to vote could be prosecuted.

It later subpoenaed Nevada’s Democrat election chief for voter information after DHS identified potentially 16,000 foreigners on the rolls, while Nevada reported removing a net 50,130 people.
