This is one of the most anti-gun states in the nation, and it’s actually proud of this fact.
No, I don’t know why, but it is, and it’s sticking to that, even after the FBI arrested a woman who was planning a terrorist attack at the state house.

A 35-year-old Albany, N.Y., woman is in federal custody for allegedly planting a bomb in the State Capitol building with lawmakers inside.
Details are still thin, but I’ll give you what we know and some choice reactions.
A Fox News breaker reports that the FBI told the network that a suspect named Jessica Bowie plotted to kill New York lawmakers after she “pledged allegiance to ISIS,” more accurately known as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Because of course she did.

Bowie allegedly planned to hide a bomb inside a DoorDash bag, “hoping to strike while state senators were meeting.”
Wednesday, Bowie allegedly bought from two FBI informants what she thought was an explosive device, but was actually inert, according to the bureau. She was also given a non-functioning handgun.
Tom Winter at NBC News posted that Bowie is “expected in court at 2pm today to face a single count of material support for ISIS,” which means the hearing might still be going on as I write these words.
Winter added, “The FBI says Bowie wanted to bomb the NY State House in the name of ISIS and they say she praised the September 11th attacks.”
Now, I’m not fond of most of the lawmakers in the state of New York, but the reality is that despite that, I don’t want to see them be the victims of a terrorist attack. I simply don’t.
However, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t point out that the secret is, apparently, making the NY State House a bomb-free zone.
Assuming Bowie had the means to actually deploy an explosive device, the problem is clearly insufficient bomb control in the state.
In seriousness, this is someone who decided to embrace the jihad against the West, and the Left is ready to trip all over themselves to appease these same people, while taking away our right to actually shoot someone who might have a bomb in a DoorDash bag and screams “Allah Akbar!”
Honestly, no good seems to come after those words.
It’s never an ice cream party or free pizza for everyone in the area.
It’s just shrapnel and death.
The Second Amendment might not have been explicitly written to deal with Islamic terrorism, but it was written to allow Americans to defend this great land. Terrorists are our enemies, and some of us swore an oath to explicitly defend this country against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Yet New York is one of many states that tries to interfere with that.
Yet it doesn’t seem to do much to stop the truly evil. It doesn’t stop those who think violence is the answer to all questions, including trying to force us into capitulation with their extremist religion.
They almost got a taste of that evil. They won’t, thanks to the FBI, but if they continue to focus on the wrong things, it’s just a matter of time.
