Women for Gun Rights Launches Paid Membership Program

Like it or not, the stereotype of the typical gun owner as a middle-aged white dude didn’t materialize out of the ether. It’s based on the fact that, for a long time, that’s what the gun rights movement looked like. That’s who talked to lawmakers and who spoke out at demonstrations. An image formed not because of anything but that’s what reflected the perceived reality.

But women and minorities have always been part of the community. These days, though, they’re a faster-growing part of it, and that means these are groups we need to put out more front and center.

Especially since Democrats tend to want to court these groups, all while opposing gun rights.

Women for Gun Rights is one example of doing just that, because it becomes a bit harder to dismiss “old white men” when they’re not old white men. However, until now, there was no way to really join Women for Gun Rights via a paid membership.

That has changed.

After 10 years of building one of the nation’s most influential grassroots Second Amendment organizations through volunteer leadership and industry partnerships, Women for Gun Rights (WGR) has launched its first formal paid membership program, marking a major milestone in the organization’s continued growth and national impact.

Since its founding, WGR has operated without a paid membership structure, relying instead on the strength of its volunteer network, state and regional leaders, delegates, and supporters. The new membership program reflects increasing demand from supporters who want to become more actively involved in advancing WGR’s mission of education, safety, and constitutional advocacy.

“The launch of our membership program is a testament to the strength of our community and the growing desire of Americans to safeguard their rights, so they can protect themselves and the ones they love,” said Dianna Muller, founder of Women for Gun Rights.

“For the past 10 years, Women for Gun Rights has been powered by hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours from our regional and state directors, delegates, and their families, who dedicate their time to issues that impact every American. We are deeply grateful for their sacrifice and commitment. This new membership opportunity allows supporters to engage more directly with our mission, and every donation will help expand our education, advocacy, and safety initiatives. We are also proud that our sponsors recognize this support by offering meaningful benefits to our members.”

Women for Gun Rights has also had the support of the NRA, which has provided any needed funding and infrastructure as the group stood up. Now, though, there’s more than enough support to be a lot more financially independent, and that’s a good thing.

It’s a lot harder for anti-gun lawmakers who also want the support of women to blindly dismiss pro-gun women. Many of the terms they might throw at a guy like me won’t work against a female advocate for gun rights. Plus, do they risk potentially alienating women as a whole through some careless comment?

Let’s be real here. We all know that while lawmakers claim to want to listen to constituents, they don’t really. What they want to do is to listen to their favored groups tell them how great they are. They might be open to hearing about problems they can swoop in to solve, but they’re not going to go against their core demographics.

Not unless those same demographics start telling them to leave their gun rights alone.

Women are a core constituency for the Democratic Party, and we all know that 99+ percent of Democrats in public office favor gun control. You do the math.

If anti-gun lawmakers suddenly feel like the tide is turning on them, they’ll either shut up about gun control or find themselves leaving office and a pro-gun lawmaker stepping in. They just need to know that gun rights actually matter and will determine how someone votes. Failure to do that will mean the opinions are dismissed.

Women for Gun Rights isn’t going to be a group that will play the stupid game on this.
