Has it really only been twenty years since the great bloviating charlatan started his Gorebal Warmering hoax (as Bingley and I affectionately called it two decades ago on The Swilling)?

Gosh, I guess it has. And somehow, in spite of ourselves and his blustering grift, we have survived. A little beaten up, much poorer, but finally free of most of the chains of the climate cult fraud that bound us.

And nearly broke us, literally and figuratively.

Yet, here’s the shameless snake oil salesman, now a silver-haired, senior citizen who must need a new revenue stream, out front and center, drawing attention to his hysteria-inducing piece of fictional fundraising.

Worse, a national ‘news’ organization is indulging this egotist’s rosy-eyed reminiscing as if the manipulative fabrications in that blatant propaganda piece weren’t basically all outright frozen walrus poo dressed up for gullible human consumption as certified free of destructive pathogens.

Let’s walk down memory lane for a second – circa 2007 or so – and wrap ourselves in the sonorous sound of Gore’s doleful intonations describing mostly submerged Florida because half of Greenland (or Antarctica, or both – your choice) has melted and ‘fallen away.’

In his acceptance speech he said “the North Polar ice cap is “falling off a cliff” and that “it could be completely gone” in 7 years.

Fortunately, he didn’t show my neck of the Florida woods, or I could have used it as an excuse to buy that sexy Tracker pontoon boat I’m always ogling at Bass Pro Shops.

In any event, the bulbous gloom and doom merchant has made a handsome living off of selling a climate disaster that’s always coming, but never quite happens. 

And he says in this interview with ABC ‘News’ (and that word is doing some heavy lifting here) that it was ‘all true.’

…When asked by ABC News chief meteorologist and chief climate correspondent Ginger Zee whether the film and its predictions on global warming hold up, Gore responded, “Unfortunately, yes.”

“The scientists were dead right on all the important elements of it, and it really is insane that we are continuing to use the sky as an open sewer and we’re trapping so much heat every day it’s equal to the amount that would be released by 800,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every day on the earth,” Gore said during an interview with ABC News at his family farm in Tennessee.

Astonishingly, and my reason for quotation marks around ‘news’, ABC says the same.

…In a review of key claims by the documentary, ABC News found that the majority of the scientific observations made in “An Inconvenient Truth” have come to fruition or are on track to in the years to come. The last 11 years — from 2015 to 2025 — have been the hottest on record, according to scientific data from NOAA and the Copernicus Climate Change Service  and summarized in a report released earlier this year by the World Meteorological Organization.

In the film, Gore also discussed how warming oceans would cause hurricanes to be more destructive. Climate scientists over the last decade have contributed to a growing body of evidence that human-amplified warming is leading to more intense storms and allowing for the rapid intensification of tropical cyclones as they approach land.

     

Well, it’s easy to claim ‘the hottest years on record,’ but that’s not close to being true if you say, ‘hotter than ever.’

It’s a scare tactic. Hot now isn’t unusual for EARTH. Not even when there were civilizations flourishing in Europe and Asia.

The scientists found no direct link between declining sea ice and worsening adult bear condition. In fact, many bears got fatter. 

The science got it entirely backwards.

In 2017, skinny bears proved climate catastrophe. In 2026, fatter bears are being framed as a temporary exception.

Globally, the polar bear population stood at just 5,000 in the 1960s. Today it’s more than 30,000. 

And worse still for the narrative, Arctic sea ice extent has held steady for the past 18 years now, showing no trends since 2007.

They are doing so well, they even found themselves a vacay get away, but didn’t really leave the best review.

Hurricanes are no more demonstrably destructive than ever. They are more expensive than ever and affect more people, because more people live in the path of hurricanes.

There has been no upward trend in the numbers or in the intensity of hurricanes.

Of course, there are plenty enough variables and starting points that it would not be difficult to identify trends in this or that hurricane metric and link those trends to climate change. Such studies are easy to publish and the climate beat loves them. Fortunately, the IPCC has to date played things straight on hurricanes — many others do not. 

Bottom line — The record (tying) number of major hurricane landfalls of 2024 is notable, but it is not part of any identifiable trend in hurricane frequency or intensity. The lack of detection of such trends today is exactly what we would expect based on assessed climate research — also known as, the current scientific consensus.

The CO2 is a red herring. Of course, when you’ve made a fortune off of carbon trading, it always helps to pimp the business.

…Gore also explained in the film that carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions would rise to 500 parts per million (ppm) within 50 years. In 2006, CO2 emissions were about 380 ppm. Now, CO2 emissions are more than 430 ppm — more than 50% higher than pre-Industrial Revolution levels, according to NOAA.

Countries like India would beg to differ with the Goracle about the toxic effects of a little CO2 enrichment.

A claim that repeatedly clashes with observable reality demands scrutiny. Such claims survive only when contradictory evidence is buried, data selectively presented, or fear trumps fact. Such is the case with the apocalyptic narrative of climate change.

One among the many pretenses of doomsayers is that shifting climate patterns threaten global food security. Environmental websites like Mongabay warn that “climate change, extreme weather, and conflict exacerbate the global food crisis,” as if harvests are failing everywhere. “Science” blogs declare that climate change endangers food systems. The United Nations states that “the world’s food supply is made insecure by climate change.”

…India ranks as the world’s second-largest producer of rice and wheat, with output reaching 150 million and 117 million metric tons, respectively, in 2024-25. The country achieved record food grain production of 358 million metric tons, reflecting a strong shift towards high-value crops. Between 2020 and 2025, agricultural exports rose 50% to $51 billion. Agriculture and allied activities account for nearly one-fifth of the country’s gross value-added at current prices, employ approximately 46% of the workforce, and support nearly 55% of the population.

Does this look like a collapsing ecosystem to you? Do record-breaking harvests reflect a planet hostile to plant life? The shrieks of climate Chicken Littles are no match for millions of tons of harvested grain.

The toxic CO₂ myth
How does a nation in the tropics, supposedly vulnerable to “extreme weather,” achieve consecutive record harvests? The answer lies partly in something climate alarmists refuse to acknowledge: Rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) accelerate plant growth, and natural warming of the modern era favors agriculture far more than the chill of the Little Ice Age, from which the planet emerged 175 years ago.

Carbon dioxide is not the pollutant that climate pseudoscience alleges. It is plant food. Every botanist and farmer understands this, as did school children before indoctrination replaced education in many classrooms. Elevated CO₂ levels boost photosynthesis, increase crop yields, and improve water-use efficiency in plants.

NASA states that “CO₂ is making Earth greener,” noting that a rising atmospheric concentration has added 5% to global green leaf area over the past three decades. Studies of plant growth consistently demonstrate that crops like wheat, rice, and soybeans respond strongly to CO₂ enrichment, with yield increases ranging from 15% to 30%.

And the weather is being weather again, so I’m not sure how the hopes of global boiling will be going this summer.

It is going to be hot in Europe, conversely. Lots of people will suffer inordinately, sadly, many die, because Europeans refuse to utilize air conditioning. Or to have enough power resources for air conditioning.
