Kayleigh McEnany Says Democrats Are Abandoning Climate Alarmism After Years of Dire Warnings
Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany argued that Democrats have spent decades using climate change as a political scare tactic while voters increasingly focus on economic concerns such as energy prices and inflation instead of climate activism.
During a segment discussing climate politics, McEnany played a series of past remarks from prominent Democrats and climate activists warning about the dangers of climate change.
“For decades, the Democrats have been trying to scare you,” McEnany said.

The segment included comments from former Secretary of State John Kerry, who linked climate change to global instability and security threats.
“The levels of terror that we see in the world today, and of course, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction,” Kerry said. “All of these are challenges that don’t know any borders, and that’s exactly what climate change is.”
Former President Barack Obama was also shown warning about climate change during his presidency.
“No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change,” Obama said.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was featured discussing climate deadlines and environmental concerns.
“The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
Climate activist Greta Thunberg was also included in the montage with remarks delivered during a United Nations speech.
“People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction,” Thunberg said. “How dare you?”
McEnany argued that many of the dire predictions pushed by climate activists and Democrats over the years never materialized.
“In 1995 The New York Times predicted that most of the beaches on the east coast of the United States would be gone in 25 years,” McEnany said.
“Well, the beaches are still Sandy and the ice caps are still frozen, but every major Democrat has compared campaign rather on climate change, using it as a scare tactic,” McEnany added.
According to McEnany, Democrats repeatedly warned voters about environmental catastrophe while using climate policy to direct government spending toward politically connected interests.
“Vote for them or the world is going to melt,” McEnany said. “And once they’re in, they send huge climate contracts to their friends, to their donors.”
McEnany argued voters are becoming less responsive to climate-centered political messaging, especially as economic concerns dominate public opinion surveys.
“But no one is buying it anymore,” McEnany said. “Democrats have cried climate wolf so many times that even the times is telling them to cut it out.”
She referenced reporting suggesting Democrats may be moving climate issues away from the center of campaign messaging.
“They say Democrats don’t have to campaign on climate change anymore,” McEnany said. “Turns out voters care about energy prices, not windmills, solar panels.”
McEnany also referenced polling from 2024 that showed climate ranking low among voter priorities.
“New York Times says it’s not clear why climate should be at the center of Democrat campaigns,” McEnany said. “And even under Biden, climate wasn’t a top priority for voters. A poll from 2024 had climate at the bottom of the list.”
McEnany also pointed to Greta Thunberg’s activism shifting toward support for Palestine rather than climate-related demonstrations.
“And remember the Democrats top climate warrior, Greta?” McEnany said. “Well, she moved on from fighting climate change to freeing Palestine.”
McEnany concluded by questioning whether Democrats are beginning to distance themselves from climate-focused political messaging after years of warnings about environmental catastrophe.
“Is the left finally going to give up its most expensive scam?” McEnany asked.
“After decades of hysteria, decades of finger pointing, the polls tanked, the money dried up faster than they said our water sources would, and now, all of a sudden, Democrats don’t care about climate change anymore,” McEnany said.
