Ariana Grande has officially confirmed that her upcoming 2026 “Eternal Sunshine” Tour will be her final one as a pop singer — at least for now.

The superstar revealed the news on Amy Poehler’s podcast “Good Hang,” explaining that while she remains grateful for her extraordinary career in music, she feels ready to explore fresh creative directions beyond the stage.

The shocking announcement comes as Grande celebrates her return to acting through the highly anticipated film “Wicked: For Good,” following her time filming the original “Wicked.”

In her calm yet heartfelt tone, she described the tour as “one last hurrah,” indicating a conscious decision to step back from the relentless rhythm of pop superstardom.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

“It’s going to be beautiful and I’m so grateful that — I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah. For now,’” Grande said during her candid conversation with Poehler.

Her words carried both warmth and finality, signaling closure to one of the most consistent live touring runs in modern pop music.

Grande emphasized that her decision is not about burnout but rather about artistic evolution.

“I spent so much time only doing pop music — but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theater and comedy,” she said. “The thing that will be best for my soul and my art is chasing things that feel right in the moment.”

It’s been more than six years since fans last saw Grande perform live. Her “Sweetener World Tour” concluded in 2019 and stands as one of the highest-grossing tours headlined by a female artist that decade. The six-year gap reflects both her pandemic-era hiatus and her total immersion in television and film projects.

Her renewed acting drive has been undeniable. Following her success in the original “Wicked,” Grande secured a role in the sequel “Wicked: For Good,” which premieres on November 21.

The singer-turned-actress will also appear in Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story” Season 13, sharing screen time with several returning series icons.

Fans can add another project to the list: “Focker-In-Law,” a Ben Stiller-directed film where Grande plays a pivotal comedic role.

It marks another major step in her transition from pop princess to full-fledged Hollywood performer. She described her upcoming film work as “something different” and “a role that I fell in love with from the first read.”

Despite her career shift, Grande reassured listeners that her love for performing remains strong.

She explained that the “Eternal Sunshine” Tour will cover 41 dates across North America from June 6 through August 6, 2026, culminating with a 10-show residency at London’s O2 Arena. It’s an ambitious sendoff designed to reconnect Grande with the fans who propelled her career from Nickelodeon newcomer to international icon.

“I don’t want to say any definitive things,” she noted cautiously. “I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time.” Her comments reflect a mindful stepping-away rather than a hard-stop retirement, leaving the door slightly ajar for potential returns down the road.

The mood among fans online has been mixed: sadness at losing one of pop’s most powerful voices tempered by admiration for her authenticity.

On social media, followers praised Grande’s willingness to listen to her instincts, calling the decision “pure Ariana” — sincere, surprising, and steeped in artistic integrity.

Industry observers agree that the move makes sense strategically.

With her successful foray into film and television, Grande is positioning herself where longevity is more sustainable. As one entertainment analyst put it, “Ariana’s not quitting — she’s pivoting.

Her next chapter may be less about chart-toppers and more about character-driven storytelling.”

Whether or not she ever returns to music full-time, Grande’s influence will endure.

Her distinctive voice and genre-blending approach helped shape the sound of modern pop music, and her evolution mirrors the growing creative fluidity among artists who increasingly refuse to be confined to one lane.

For now, fans can look forward to the “Eternal Sunshine” Tour with both excitement and nostalgia — a celebration of Grande’s past, and the beginning of what she calls “something that feels right in the moment.” As she gracefully closes one monumental chapter, her next act promises to be just as transformative.
