AWFL Convinced That She Can Break the Law Because ‘I’m Just a Mom’

This video from Portland is wild, but well worth watching because it is a perfect display of the mentality of folks who believe that their feeling of moral superiority and emotional incontinence trumps the basic rules of civil society. 

Captured by a Post Millennial reporter who was doing a ride-along with a federal agent, it shows an anti-ICE “spotter” who spends her time tracking federal agents in order to impede their ability to do their jobs. She drives around in her wildly expensive Mustang EV to track the agents and pass along their location to people who hide illegal aliens from them. 

Portland woman starts panicking, hyperventilating, and begging for mercy after getting pulled over for impeding ICE operations.

“I’m just a mom! I’m just a mom! … I’m shaking,” she pleaded.

In the space of a few minutes, she goes from taunting federal agents after she blocks them on a road to speeding away, breaking a bunch of laws, including evading arrest and lying to federal agents, to blowing through red lights, to…crying that she is “just a mom” who shouldn’t be held accountable for her behavior. 

From “F-you” to “please please please” in minutes. No doubt she will be on TikTok taunting the agents again, even though they didn’t arrest her, although they did refer her to the authorities, who will likely do nothing. 

“Nobody is above the law, except me and whoever I say should be.”

It is a remarkable mindset if you believe in the idea that society should be based on the rule of law. 

But liberals don’t anymore. In their twisted logic, their preferences should override everything else, and anybody who doesn’t recognize their right to rule over all the rest of us is evil and should be insulted, and even democratically passed laws don’t apply whenever they so choose. 

Not even basic traffic laws apply to them. A red light? L’État, c’est moi. 

We’re not even seeing an act of civil disobedience, because civil disobedience entails a willingness and even eagerness to embrace the consequences of breaking the law. The argument for civil disobedience is that it awakens the conscience of the public and encourages them to change the laws, not render them null and void. This is merely a sense of entitlement. 

“I don’t like the law, so it doesn’t apply to me.” Nothing more. 

And then there is the tantrum, which is based on emotional blackmail. It’s the “Maryland father” syndrome, where emotional appeals are supposed to wipe away everything else, including basic facts and logic. If the “father” or “mother” argument is supposed to wipe away all consequences, then it’s likely that the majority of people who break the law in this country would never face consequences for anything they ever do. 

A perfect example was the case I wrote about yesterday, where a family of illegal aliens resisted arrest, faked a medical emergency, and hid behind their child in order to avoid arrest. The media flocked to defend the poor illegal immigrants, while conveniently ignoring the fact that the mother was being arrested because she had STABBED A COWORKER TWICE.

But she is a MOTHER!

Oh, FFS. 

This is suicidal empathy, nothing more. And AWFLs self-indulgently use its power to wipe away any responsibility for wrongdoing.
