Bear of Little Brains Launches Reelection Campaign As Only He Can

So, I haven’t paid any attention to Chicago’s Mayor Brandon ‘Bear of Little Brains’ Johnson lately, with all that’s going on in the world.

I figured Chicago was basically maintaining its miserable status quo under the woefully inept teachers’ union tool, and I was correct.

The local CBS affiliate did a report last weekend wondering why there wasn’t even a Chicago Police Department incident report for an event that had hundreds of the Bears’ ‘youths’ attending, blocked several city blocks, and was generally Mayhem Incorporated, as you can tell from the video.

There have been 307 homicides this year (-1.0% compared to last year). 272 of them were fatal shootings (+7.1%) out of the 1,352 people shot so far (-1.7%).

Mass shootings, so often used to vilify the ‘right-wing,’ occur with regularity in Chicago and are ignored by its own grandstanding officials.

There was a mass shooting yesterday, not immigration enforcement, Mr. Mayor.

Anything to say about 7 shot in Humboldt Park? https://t.co/qlkJ5n2RsZ

They are too busy living life large to care what happens in their own streets unless they can pin it on white supremacy.

Criminal offense attorneys for accused gun-toting, youthful thugs, whom I have often featured here in their own videos, share their clients’ joy in dancing.

Only a Chicago criminal defense attorney would post a video celebrating her client found not guilty of aggravated battery with a firearm while dancing and making firing-gun gestures.

You seriously can’t make this stuff up. pic.twitter.com/uAZPC3hnv2

The mayor also has jammin’ videos to make, yo.

He wants to keep this schweet, schweet gig he’s got going, and he’s up against about a dozen opponents who have declared for the February election so far.

Predictably, some people – probably RACISTS! – don’t appreciate the Bear’s smooth moves, either on the rooftop or in the office.

And major props to Spencer for ‘jestergooning.’

The jestergooning of politicians must stop. Did none of you learn the lesson from the Covid nurses? Nobody wants to see you dancing on TikTok when 2K people are being shot in your city every year. pic.twitter.com/GygMTEyG4l

I am SO stealing that.

Now, besides this dope dancing TikTok, The Bear released a lovely, hazy, ‘I’ve been so good for you guys that you owe me‘ campaign video.

It almost makes you wonder who the guy they’re talking about in the video is, because what he describes is not at all what he’s done.

Four years ago, we promised to build the safest most affordable city in America by investing in people. Together we’ve made progress on delivering a better, stronger, and safer Chicago and our work is not done. Join us! pic.twitter.com/wopmJcP4gw

Four more years of ‘what?’ was the question from Chicagoans.

…Nowhere is this failure more glaring than in his administration’s reckless handling of public safety. Johnson has consistently fueled toxic anti-police rhetoric, treating law enforcement as a systemic ailment rather than a partner in keeping communities safe. This hostile posture culminated in his stubborn, ideologically driven crusade to end ShotSpotter—abruptly stripping Chicago’s depleted police force of crucial acoustic technology used to locate gunfire and save gunshot victims. The consequence of his soft-on-crime philosophy is a city left entirely vulnerable; Chicago tragically continues to lead the nation in bloodshed, logging more annual homicides than New York City and Los Angeles combined.

By removing the Shot Spotter he was able to lie to the people who believe them. pic.twitter.com/tG26ImRqIg

The anti-police, pro-illegal immigrant, and black activist mayor (unless you’re talking about the 97% of black males who are the murder victims in his city) is ready to continue rumbling for the socialist causes near and dear to his heart.

To the surprise of no one, slavery, police torture, Laquan McDonald, and reparations were mentioned prominently at @ChicagosMayor’s reelection campaign launch & rally today. pic.twitter.com/UuqMkorZPU

Which, granted, might not be doing the city as a whole any good, but hey! It’s good to be the Bear.

I’ve covered Johnson’s incredible financial incompetence repeatedly. It’s all driven by undying fealty to his Chicago teachers’ union (CTU) overlords.

Paul Vallas, the former Superintendent of the Chicago Public School system and occasional political candidate, offered a quick rundown of The Bear’s robbing Taxpayer Peter to pay CTU Paul, correcting a few points in Johnson’s dreamy bragging campaign video.

To kick off his reelection campaign, Mayor Johnson claimed he’s made Chicago the “safest most affordable big city in America.” Johnson, however, did not mention how Chicago continues to lead the nation in murders, school age youth murders and mass shootings.

Above all, Johnson… pic.twitter.com/wQnYsgwzg8

Johnson also stated he is protecting working families, but omitted how he has raised at least 17 taxes and fees including the Cloud Tax to 14%, making the levy on computer services the highest in the nation.

Johnson also failed to mention his appointees on the Board of Education raised property taxes on residents by $752 million.

Johnson claimed he intends to build 10,000 affordable housing units, but to date has built an around 500 at an average cost of about $700,000 per unit and vowed to continue reopening mental health clinics, though he has only reopened 3 in four years in office.

Most important, Johnson failed to mention spending $639 million on illegal migrants, most of which has gone to provide over migrants 46,000 with housing.

Sorry Mayor Johnson, you have not prioritized city residents and have helped make Chicago one of the “least safe and least affordable big cities in America.”

By every metric, Chicago residents have come out on the short end of Brandon Johnson’s mayoral stick.

For example, Chicago public schools have lost 77,000 students since 2010. Most of the schools are sitting 35% empty.

One of the high schools in this report has just 37 students in the entire high school. The one kid has only seven students in his class.

As one outraged mother says, for the number of teachers and the few students, every last one of those kids should be going to Harvard when they graduate.

Why are so many Chicago Public Schools so empty… and why are so few people talking about it? pic.twitter.com/4MIybANZxY

You can use this handy-dandy little calculator (with the sliding ball for number of years teaching) to figure out what your average teacher might be costing the taxpayer there,

On the union page, they’re pretty cagey and won’t discuss salary numbers, but they sure are proud of the pay raise/retroactive pay/COLA they just extorted. And, when I found the contract pay schedule for ‘228 Day Teachers’, I guess I would be, too.

Mind you, it might be over a hundred grand a year for a teacher with ten years in high schools that barely have over an 83% graduation rate, with 60% of those children reading below grade level in the 11th grade.

Annual test scores are in for Chicago Public Schools, and most students are still struggling to meet grade level standards in reading and math even after the state lowered proficiency standards.

The Illinois Report Card released Oct. 30 showed just 43% of CPS students in third through eighth grade read at grade level in 2025 and just 27% could perform math proficiently. Among 11th graders, only 40% were proficient in reading and 25% in math on the ACT.

These proficiency rates come after the state board of education lowered the scores needed to be considered proficient in reading and math in 2025.

What’s more, absenteeism remains high within CPS.

All for the princely price of $55,000 per child per year!

These kids couldn’t spell Harvard, let alone ever make it there.

It’s criminal.

But the jestergoon feels like dancin’.

A Dancin’ Bear doesn’t take any brains at all.
