A kindergarten graduation ceremony at a Catholic school in Ohio was disrupted Thursday morning after a fight broke out between families over seating, sending one woman to the hospital and another woman to jail, as reported by The New York Post.
The incident happened at Queen of Apostles School in Toledo, Ohio, where families had gathered for a kindergarten graduation ceremony.
According to witnesses who spoke with WTVG, the confrontation began after one family allegedly started holding rows of seats for themselves.

Jessica Anderson, 28, allegedly began cursing at parents who attempted to sit in seats she was accused of saving. The dispute escalated as other parents became involved.

Craig Mays, the parent of a graduating student, told WTVG that he tried to calm Anderson down before the situation turned physical.
“As I’m arguing with Jessica, I literally don’t remember anything, I just know I was sucker-punched,” Mays said.
Mays said five men from Anderson’s extended family got up from their seats and attacked him. Video obtained by the outlet showed several people striking a man on the floor while others attempted to pull people apart.
Mays said he was assaulted by multiple men from Anderson’s family during the incident.

As the fight continued, Mays’ former partner tried to intervene. Anderson allegedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her away, according to video recorded by bystanders.
The two women fought off to the side during the confrontation. Mays’ former partner was later hospitalized and required stitches, according to an affidavit obtained by WTOL 11.
Anderson was arrested and charged with felonious assault.
The children were not in the room when the fight broke out. They were rehearsing for their graduation ceremony in a separate room at the time, according to the school.
Queen of Apostles School said all students were safe. The school continued with the children’s last day of school celebrations as usual.
It was not immediately clear whether the school would try to hold another graduation ceremony for the kindergarten students.
Mays, who teaches kindergarten at another school, said the fight took away from what should have been a meaningful day for the children, their families, and teachers.
“I know how hard those kids work, I know how hard those teachers work, for us to ruin it and be selfish like that, it literally breaks my heart that I can’t watch my daughter graduate today,” Mays told WTVG.
The brawl drew attention after a video circulated showing the confrontation at the Toledo school. The incident turned a kindergarten milestone into a police matter, with one parent hospitalized and another facing a felony assault charge.
Queen of Apostles School is a Catholic school in Toledo. The families had gathered on Thursday for the children’s graduation ceremony before the seating dispute grew into a larger confrontation.
The fight began over seating, witnesses said, and escalated before the children entered the room for the ceremony. School officials said the students remained safe while the adults involved were separated.
