She suffered a catastrophic brain injury and other severe injuries during a June 2024 crash allegedly caused by illegal immigrant truck driver Partap Singh.

Authorities say Singh triggered a crash involving multiple vehicles while operating a large commercial truck.

The Department of Homeland Security placed responsibility for his commercial driving credentials squarely on California officials, stating, “Governor Newsom’s Department of Motor Vehicles issued him a commercial driver’s license.”

Dalilah was only five years old when the crash occurred, and her injuries will require therapy for the rest of her life.

Her father came to Congress seeking accountability, not another round of polished political theater from lawmakers who support the policies at issue.

Coleman rejected the sympathy offered by committee Democrats with searing honesty: “I reject your guys’ sympathy, to be honest. There’s no way you are sorry.”

“Not one of you guys has ever called me. Not one of you guys has ever reached out to me.”

Democrats could offer solemn expressions for the cameras, but Coleman made clear that their concern had never translated into personal outreach or meaningful action.

Representative Summer Lee of Pennsylvania then demonstrated why families like Coleman’s remain furious.

Lee, described as a former member of the Democratic Socialists of America, argued that removing criminal illegal immigrants from American streets was not the proper path toward making communities safer.

That position may satisfy the activist left, but it sounds detached from reality when delivered in front of families harmed by people who entered or remained in the country illegally.

Ordinary Americans understand that removing dangerous offenders is not cruelty, it is one of the basic duties of government.

Representative Deborah Ross of North Carolina added another ugly moment by complaining about the hearing itself.

Ross appeared to follow the approach previously taken by Representative Pramila Jayapal during another hearing on illegal immigration victims.

Instead of treating the testimony as a demand for action, Democrats again treated scrutiny of sanctuary policies as the real offense.

The indifference extended beyond the Judiciary hearing.

During a separate House Oversight Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement hearing involving unaccompanied alien children, sexual exploitation, and organ harvesting, every Democrat declined to appear.

Not a single Democratic member showed up to address allegations involving vulnerable children and horrific criminal activity.

Representative Eli Crane of Arizona captured the spectacle with a restrained observation: “I don’t really think they care much.”

Calling that an understatement would be generous.

When lawmakers repeatedly dismiss grieving families, resist removing criminal illegal immigrants, complain that hearings are being held, and skip proceedings involving exploited children, voters are entitled to judge the pattern for themselves.

Republicans would be foolish to let these moments disappear into the congressional archives.

The footage should be shown repeatedly before the midterm elections, particularly in competitive House districts where voters deserve to see how Democratic officials behave when the victims of illegal immigration are sitting directly in front of them.
