Dennis Quaid Backs Spencer Pratt’s Bid For Mayor

Famous actor Dennis Quaid is the latest celebrity to throw his support behind Spencer Pratt in the Los Angeles, California, mayoral race.

The actor, who experienced the Palisades Fire first-hand, backed Pratt’s bid with a few words in a May 23 interview with Fox News. The 72-year-old actor told the outlet, while smiling confidently, “Mayor race? Spencer Pratt. Go Spencer Pratt!”

Quaid has widely criticized Mayor Karen Bass over the city’s response to the devastating blaze, and he lashed out at Bass for opting to travel to Ghana amid the crisis.

Quaid was interviewed at the 2nd Annual Military & Veteran Entertainment Awards Gala. The outlet asked why he felt so strongly about backing Pratt, and the actor suggested his reasons were obvious.

“Why?” he retorted.

“What are you talking about? Why?”

Quaid continued, “Just look around, man. Why?” he said, as he chuckled.

The famous actor joined a growing list of celebrities rallying behind Pratt’s bid for office.

Paris Hilton, Joe Rogan, James Woods, Jamie Kennedy, Billy Bush, James Foster, Katharine McPhee and Joanna Krupa have also spoken out in support of Pratt, according to the outlet. Adam Corolla has backed Pratt as well, in addition to a number of Pratt’s former co-stars from “The Hills,” including Kristin Cavallari, Brody Jenner and Audrina Patridge. Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Bass donated the maximum amount permitted to Pratt’s campaign, according to Fox News.

The Los Angeles Times reported May 28 that Pratt is in a tight mayoral race and currently has 22% support from likely voters, compared to Bass with 26% and Nithya Raman with 25%.
