Drunken Chaos Erupts As Furious Passengers Attack Airline Staff In Mexico City Airport [WATCH]

A group of unruly airline passengers reportedly removed from an Aeroméxico flight sparked a violent confrontation inside Mexico City’s International Airport on Wednesday, leading airport officials to call authorities and send those involved before a civic court, as reported by the New York Post.

The disturbance unfolded inside Terminal 2 at Mexico City International Airport after several passengers, who witnesses said appeared to be intoxicated, were escorted off an Aeroméxico aircraft before departure.

According to reports, airline personnel removed the group after one member allegedly damaged the aircraft before takeoff.

Video recorded during the incident captured several unidentified passengers confronting airline employees at customer service counters inside the terminal.

The footage showed the situation escalating quickly as members of the group moved past queue-control barriers and began throwing objects while employees and security personnel attempted to restore order.

One individual was seen breaking through the passenger line barriers before grabbing a metal stanchion pole. The passenger then swung the pole through the air as the confrontation intensified.

Another person appeared to push behind the airline’s customer service desk before throwing what looked to be a plastic water bottle across the terminal.

At one point during the incident, an airport employee attempted to stop one of the aggressive passengers by wrapping him in a bear hug while the individual continued holding the metal pole.

Other airport workers, security personnel, and bystanders stepped in as they tried to separate those involved and prevent the disturbance from spreading further through the terminal.

Witnesses reported that the passengers had been removed from the Aeroméxico flight shortly before the confrontation inside the airport.

Reports indicated that the travelers appeared to be intoxicated and were believed to be members of the same family.

According to those reports, the removal from the aircraft occurred after one passenger allegedly damaged the plane before it departed. The confrontation inside the terminal followed shortly afterward.

The incident drew the attention of numerous travelers waiting in the airport. While some people assisted security personnel in attempting to calm the situation, others stood nearby watching the confrontation unfold.

The footage circulated widely online, showing airport employees working to contain the disorder while preventing additional damage inside the busy terminal.

Following the incident, Mexico City International Airport confirmed that authorities had intervened.

In a statement posted on X, the airport said it had “requested the intervention of the competent authority, who brought the involved individuals before the civic court.”

The airport added, “The above [was done] in order to preserve order and avoid greater impacts on other users and facilities.”

The statement did not identify the individuals involved or disclose whether additional charges could follow.

Neither Mexico City International Airport nor Aeroméxico immediately responded to requests for additional comment following the incident.

The confrontation serves as another example of disruptive passenger behavior spilling beyond an aircraft and into airport facilities, forcing airline employees, airport staff, and security personnel to respond in an effort to protect other travelers and maintain operations inside one of Latin America’s busiest airports.
