Former Vice President Kamala Harris faced widespread online reaction after attempting to imitate President Donald Trump during a public appearance on Friday at the National Action Network Convention 2026 in New York City.

As The New York Post reported, Harris, 61, made the remarks during an onstage interview with National Action Network founder Al Sharpton, where the discussion focused on foreign policy and U.S. relationships abroad.

During her response, Harris attempted to characterize Trump’s approach to global affairs with an impression she described as resembling a “mob boss.”

“He kinda acts like a mob boss, so then he’s kinda like, ‘Well, you know, you take Eastern Europe, and I’ll take the Western Hemisphere,’” Harris said.

“And then you over there, you get Asia, and we’ll just divide it up,” she added, concluding the impression.

The audience responded with a brief reaction, with attendees offering what appeared to be a limited response following the remarks.

The moment quickly circulated on social media, where users reacted to the impression. Several comments posted online criticized Harris’s delivery.

“She’s a French fry short of a happy meal,” one commenter wrote.

Another commenter stated, “She sounded more like an old black man.”

A third user added, “No one is more impressed with Kamala Harris than Kamala herself.”

The impression came during a broader exchange in which Harris was responding to a question from Sharpton regarding international relationships.

Sharpton referenced what he described as strained global ties and asked about restoring those relationships.

Harris’s remarks were part of a longer answer that included her perspective on diplomacy and international cooperation.

In addition to the discussion of foreign policy, Harris also addressed her political future during the interview.

When asked directly by Sharpton whether she plans to run for president again in 2028, Harris indicated that she has not ruled out the possibility.

“I might. I might. I’m thinking about it. I’m thinking about it,” she said.

Harris also outlined upcoming travel plans, noting that she would be visiting several states, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas.

The former vice president previously ran for president in 2024, where she was defeated by President Trump.

The National Action Network Convention appearance marked one of Harris’s more high-profile public events in recent months, drawing attention both for her policy remarks and the viral clip of her attempted impression.
