Gutfeld Torches Axios ‘Despite Trump’ Headline [WATCH]

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld used a recent segment to argue that national crime data is being framed in ways that downplay the impact of President Donald Trump’s policies.

The segment also included a video clip of Katie Couric and Sen. Rand Paul and expanded into criticism of media coverage on immigration and a mass shooting in Canada.

“So you’ve heard, probably only here on Fox, that the murder rate has fallen to its lowest level in 125 years,” Gutfeld said, drawing applause from the audience.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

“The largest single year drop in history,” he continued.

“The biggest drop in murder since Hillary went on her honeymoon.”

“Violent Crime also down across every category in cities across the country,” Gutfeld added.

“Now that’s neutral, raw data, which should make for an objective headline.”

“You’d think,” he said.

“Well, here’s how Axios framed it.”

“Quote, crime plunges in major cities despite Trump’s crackdown rhetoric,” Gutfeld read.

“Despite that one word tells you everything.”

“They’re basically arguing that crime is down despite the crime crackdown,” he said.

“Which is like saying that Titanic sinked despite the iceberg.”

“It makes no sense,” Gutfeld said. “But this is what you do when you cannot deny numbers that makes someone you hate, like Trump look good.”

“So instead, you manipulate or deliberately misinterpret data to protect the narrative,” he continued.

“Which is another reason we should always thank Elon for fixing X because when Axios tweeted that nonsense, people called it out and they deleted it faster than a nude photo from Geraldo.”

“And yet,” Gutfeld added, “here’s another idiot trying to deceive you when faced with numbers.”

The show then played a clip of journalist Katie Couric discussing immigration arrests.

“All this talk about ridding the country of violent criminals, a massive overstatement,” Couric said.

“If less than 14% again of the 400,000 immigrants being arrested are had charges or convictions for violent criminal offenses. What about the 14% such a low percentage of 400,000?”

In the same clip, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., responded.

“I your daughter gets raped by the guy that gets back out and he’s one of the 14%,” Paul said.

“I don’t think you’re going to quibble about whether it’s 14 or 64.”

Gutfeld reacted to the exchange, arguing that even a smaller percentage can represent a significant number of offenders.

“It is amazing that duck face was once considered a reputable journalist,” he said.

“Given that now she’s saying that, like 50,000 plus perverts and felons, is nothing to worry about.”

“But I guess that’s what happens when you work with Matt Lauer for so long you you,” Gutfeld added.

“She also didn’t mention that the remaining criminals considered non violent had been busted for like drunk driving, drug trafficking and fraud,” he said.

“Or as Spirit Airlines calls it their customers.”

“But if that’s non violent,” Gutfeld continued, “then it’s no wonder they call a gun wielding madman in a dress a girl.”

“Which brings us to the mass shooter in Canada,” he said.

“The killer was an 18 year old dude claiming to be a woman,” Gutfeld stated. “The New York Times said her motive was unclear.”

“AP noted that police had previously visited her home,” he added.

“People identified a woman as the shooter, and the French paper Le Mans called him a local woman.”

“So why do they deceive us to protect murderous auto gynophiliacs?” Gutfeld asked.

“Perhaps because they realize they’re complicit in enabling this madness.”

“The media lent that pro trans bandwagon for years,” he said.

“So if a male teen is unstable, you’d be a damn hero to feed him hormones and send him to Sephora.”

“It’s a fact that the shooter is trans,” Gutfeld continued. “And it’s a fact in a number of recent similar grisly acts.”

“Meanwhile, data from the US federal prison system indicates that 48% of biological male inmates identifying as women were in custody for sex related offenses,” he said.

“Which is way higher than the 11% rent rate for real men and 4.7% for real women.”

“It makes me wonder how Axios would write a headline about that violence increases among women despite penises,” Gutfeld said. “Thank you.”

“Of course, those are just numbers,” he continued.

“And when you hear numbers like that, the media screams, don’t rush to conclusions.”

“Well, fine,” Gutfeld said.

“We won’t rush to conclusions if you don’t bury the facts again, the stats don’t lie.”

“The media does,” he added. “Whether it’s billions spent on the homeless as the transient population continues to explode, or that a guy with severe head trauma from a motorcycle crash is said to have died from covid.”

“The media sees data as the destroyer of their absurd narrative,” Gutfeld said.

“So they shift to stuff that defies reason.”

“Bottom line,” he concluded.

“Real stats measure outcomes if your policy works, the numbers improve. If it doesn’t, they don’t.”

“It’s the same reason we keep score in sports,” Gutfeld said.

“Unless we’re watching girls play soccer, then we don’t.”
