Holocaust Survivor’s Granddaughter Rips Zohran Mamdani to His Face During Brooklyn Shop Visit [WATCH]

Mayor Zohran Mamdani faced a furious confrontation Wednesday when an American Israeli activist accused him of ignoring surging antisemitism during his visit to a Jewish store in Brooklyn.

She then declared, “It’s all because of you we have so much antisemitism.”

Benshimol, whose grandparents survived the Holocaust, blasted Mamdani for entering the heart of a heavily Jewish neighborhood while anti Jewish hate crimes are climbing across New York City.

“Shame on you for coming to Borough Park where my Bubbie came after the Holocaust!” she shouted.

The rebuke connected the neighborhood’s history as a refuge for Jewish families with the fear many residents now feel over escalating antisemitic attacks.

“My Bubbie and Zaidy came to Borough Park! You have such chutzpah coming here! Shame on you!” Benshimol yelled.

Bubbie and Zaidy are Yiddish terms for grandmother and grandfather.

Rather than backing down, she turned her attention toward one worker and accused the employee of enabling Mamdani.

“Are you a kapo? Are you supporting him? Do you support Israel? Do you support Israel? Do you?” she demanded.

The word “kapo” refers to a concentration camp prisoner forced by the Nazis to supervise other captives.

That accusation drew on one of the darkest chapters in Jewish history and showed the depth of Benshimol’s outrage.

Her fury quickly expanded from Mamdani to Eichler’s and its owners for welcoming the mayor into their business.

“Shame on you Eichler’s, shame on you for allowing Zohran Mamdani to come to the heart of the Jewish neighborhood in Borough Park,” Benshimol said.

She accused the owners of wanting to “kiss ass to the hater of all Jewish people!”

“They want to kiss ass to the hater of all Jewish people!” she continued.

For Benshimol, the mayor’s appearance was not a routine holiday stop, but a galling display of political theater amid a worsening public safety crisis.

Mamdani did not respond to Benshimol’s taunts during the confrontation.

His silence left the activist’s charges hanging in the store as employees worked to remove her from the premises.

Hate crimes across the Big Apple have risen 9.4% this year, according to New York Police Department data released last month.

Even more alarming, 56.9% of reported hate crime incidents were antisemitic, meaning Jewish residents were targeted in more than half of those cases.

Jewish people make up only about 10% of New York City’s population.
