Hunter Biden Meme Coin Torches Buyers as Mystery Trader Scores Nearly $1 Million [WATCH]

Hunter Biden’s new meme coin delivered a brutal lesson in crypto speculation Wednesday, with four out of five buyers losing money during a spectacular launch day collapse.

Meanwhile, one unidentified trader reportedly transformed a roughly $250,000 wager into $1.18 million within minutes.

Blockchain analysis conducted by Datavault AI found that a trader using a pseudonym acquired 9,124 of Biden’s $LAPTOP tokens.

That trader quickly sold 8,480 tokens for approximately $1.18 million, producing a gain of about $930,000 before transaction costs.

Other buyers were not nearly as fortunate. One investor poured roughly $200,000 into the token near its brief peak, only to watch that position shrivel to around $2,000 as the digital asset came crashing back to reality.

“That’s the tragedy in these coins,” Datavault AI CEO Nathaniel Bradley told The Post while discussing buyers who entered the market at the token’s eye popping early prices.

The frenzy created staggering gains for a select few while leaving most participants holding digital debris.

The token briefly climbed above $300 during its chaotic Wednesday debut before tumbling to only a few dollars.

That plunge erased more than 99 percent of its peak price within hours, proving once again that flashy branding cannot manufacture lasting value.

“To come out and say that a laptop coin is worth $300 is, in my opinion, fraudulent,” Bradley said.

He also described the episode as a “classic ‘rug pull.’”

That phrase typically refers to a cryptocurrency operation in which developers or insiders drain value from a project or abandon it.

Ordinary holders are then left with tokens worth only a fraction of what they paid while better positioned traders head for the exits.

There has been no official finding that Biden or the $LAPTOP project committed fraud or participated in such a scheme.

Datavault’s review also has not established that Biden personally sold any tokens during the dramatic collapse.

How much Biden may have earned from the launch, if anything, remains unknown.

That unanswered question is certain to follow the project, especially given the Biden family’s long history of attracting scrutiny over money, access, and overseas business relationships.

The project’s founders, including Biden, were expected to receive 30 percent of the total supply of one billion tokens, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Those founder tokens were reportedly scheduled to remain locked for six months and become fully available across two years.

That arrangement means the theoretical value of Biden’s allocation during the brief price explosion cannot be treated as cash he actually collected.

A paper valuation during a speculative frenzy is not the same thing as money deposited into a bank account.

Bradley said blockchain records should eventually allow analysts to track transactions involving $LAPTOP and calculate how much money reached wallets connected to the project’s principals.

Unlike Washington spin, blockchain activity can leave a public trail that becomes increasingly difficult to explain away.

“We will be able to see finitely exactly how much,” Bradley told The Post.

He added that his team had not completed the analysis required to attach a specific dollar amount to any personal proceeds Biden might have received.

The 56 year old son of former President Joe Biden launched $LAPTOP on Base, a blockchain developed by cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.

Biden promoted the project with a message clearly designed to turn one of his family’s biggest political scandals into a marketing opportunity.

“They turned laptop into a weapon. I turned it into a token,” Biden wrote on X before the launch.

The line may have sounded clever to the Biden orbit, but the buyers who watched their money evaporate probably are not laughing.

The token is named after the laptop that became a major controversy during the 2020 presidential campaign.

The Post first reported on material from the device, including messages about Biden’s overseas business dealings and photographs documenting his drug use.
