Interesting Times in the California War on Gasoline

Two weeks ago, the last major oil shipment due into the Port of Long Beach, California via the Strait of Hormuz arrived, leaving elected officials scrambling for new sources of fuel as the fossil fuel-rich state faced the looming and very real possibility of shortages.

Californians are facing growing uncertainty at the pump after the state’s last major oil shipment from the Strait of Hormuz arrived in Long Beach on Monday, as leaders warn the state has roughly four to six weeks of fuel supply left under normal conditions.

The shipment was the last to leave the Strait of Hormuz since Iran closed it in February, forcing state officials and refinery operators to find new sources of crude while also trying to keep up with converting it into gasoline to meet consumer demand.

Ah, the irony.

One that an oil industry type couldn’t help but take a well-earned ‘told ya so‘  pot shot at.

HOW DO YOU LIKE US NOW?

“The closure of all that capacity in California is kind of coming to roost right now because California refineries can’t keep up with California demand,” said Ross Allen, a Chevron spokesperson.

As of today, the national average price per gallon is $4.56 gal. Overall, in California, it’s averaging $6.14 gal.

California gas just cleared $6.00 a gallon because they shut down their own refineries to satisfy climate activists.

Absolute clowns.

…Now their politicians are frantically trying to hand out billions in free carbon permits to fossil fuel companies just to keep the lights on.

Enjoy walking to work.

Your progressive utopia is completely broken.

But you all know how you get to an average. You total all values, divide by the total number of values, and voilá – the average. But man, are some of the highs are on their way north. WOOF.

Some metro areas are already tapping the edge of the unthinkable, and that’s BEFORE the scheduled increase in the state’s gas tax takes effect on 1 July.

And state Democrats are not going to lose that income boost, they don’t care how much the general public whines.

NO BREAKS FOR YOU!

Senate Dems says ‘hell no’ to gas tax relief for Californians, Tony Strickland says

An attempt to revive legislation that would help California families against record-high gas prices failed Monday after state Senate Democrats declined to reconsider the measure.

The bill, authored by Sen. Tony Strickland (R), was pitched as an emergency plan to slash burdensome gas taxes and save Golden State drivers more than $1 per gallon. It would have saved a family $1,100 annually at the pump, Strickland said.

Strickland attempted to bring the titled Gas Tax Relief Act on to the Senate floor after it failed to gain enough votes in March during a committee hearing. Democrats voted down the motion.

…Newsom and his supporters have repeatedly denied that cutting gas taxes would work. As recently as this month, the governor pointed the blame of high gas prices instead on President Donald Trump (R), whose war on Iran has constrained the global oil supply.

Thanks, Sacramento, and the supposed party of the working man!

Oh, and they bet on Iranian oil, remember when Newsom made his own trade deal? Thats something that should headline the gas situation in California.

…I told you this was coming.

Chevron gone after 145 years. Valero shutting down. Phillips 66 already closed.

This isn’t bad luck.  This is policy.

$10 gas isn’t a conspiracy — it’s the destination they’re driving us to.

With gasoline at over $6 gal or more in many locations, naturally, consumer griping has been loud and intense. And a week and a half ago or so, mysterious stickers explaining the high price of gasoline, with helpful matrix charts blaming it all on Trump’s war in Iran, began appearing on gas station pumps and windshield washstands.

Homeless types were slapping these up, hired by something called Arabella Advisors Network.

Why would this organization do som…OH.

@DataRepublican’s research references Arabella many times.- their footprints are everywhere it seems. https://t.co/NqNzo4yWJ0

Soros money types and anti-Trump propaganda, using the cheapest method of spreading the message available – addicts who need some quick cash.

Once upon a time, that sort of slimy assault would have gone unanswered.

Now, oil companies aren’t laying down, rolling over, or playing nice in the fossil fuel wars anymore. Oil giant Chevron has pulled the sheath off its rhetorical sword to lay waste to its detractors using the company’s own pumps.

In no uncertain terms, Chevron is letting its customers know, before they even get out of their vehicles to gas up, precisely who has brought this fiscal strain and pain to them.

Chevron is letting customers know in California that it’s not Donald Trump causing the insane gas prices in the state, it’s California Democrats

Chevron just added these new signs to their pumps educating customers, “Sacramento policies did this. Now you pay more”

“California politicians are choosing foreign oil and fuels over local jobs and lower costs”

This is what we need. Huge companies willing to educate the public and tell the truth

It’s Gavin Newsom and Democrat policies causing $6.30+ average cost per gallon in California

Chevron wants to make sure Californians realize they are the outlier, the only outlier, with no reason for their suffering other than their politicians’ policies.

Chevron is done staying silent. They’re putting signs at California gas pumps calling out the truth.

‘Sacramento policies did this.’ Not Trump. Not oil companies. Fcking democrat rules favoring foreign oil over American energy equals record high prices.

…Finally, a major company pushing back. Gas at $6.30/gallon should be illegal.

And as Chevron corporate headquarters has left California for Houston, they really couldn’t give a rat’s patootie what kind of heartburn oleaginous CA Governor Gavin Newsom and his destructive toadies in the legislature have about their counter-culture gas-station signage.

Reagan said California “should never take second place.” He didn’t mean be first in gas prices, electricity rates, homelessness, unemployment, and poverty.

The truth is just that many tough nuggets.

People can’t afford to live in California, and the Democrats they’ve elected work every single day to make it even worse.
