The IRGC and the civilian government in Iran are at loggerheads, with one group ready to make a deal and the other apparently ready to go down in flames and explosions.
There’s plenty of evidence that the President and PM want the war in the rear-view mirror, and are ready to compromise on just about anything.

🚨 The Islamic Republic is showing a MAJOR internal fracture at the highest levels in real time.
After Araghchi and Trump both claimed the Strait of Hormuz is “open,” IRGC-linked Fars News is now openly questioning officials, warning of confusion inside the country, and demanding explanations for the silence.
At the same time, IRGC messaging via state TV makes clear that passage is still controlled, restricted, and under military oversight.
Across the regime’s support base, pro-Basij and IRGC-aligned channels are fuming, with visible anger over this so-called agreement to open the strait.
This exposes a direct contradiction between the diplomatic narrative and the military reality.
Even regime-aligned media is now signaling that something doesn’t add up.
The civilians say they are opening the Strait, while the IRGC wants the Mullahgeld. The civilians are ready to give the uranium over to the US, while the IRGC says they will fight to the death to keep it.

🚨 Signs of capitulation and surrender by the Islamic Republic under pressure from Trump.
Trump says Iran agreed to stop enriching uranium and suspend its nuclear program indefinitely, with no access to frozen funds, according to Bloomberg.
He claims this was confirmed directly by Iran’s president, a largely ceremonial figure with limited real power, exposing a disconnect at the top.
This presidential guarantee will never be accepted by the Revolutionary Guards and their fanatical, uncompromising supporters.
At the same time, IRGC-linked Tasnim News is openly attacking Foreign Minister Araghchi, calling his Hormuz messaging “bad,” “incomplete,” and dangerously misleading.
They stress the strait remains under full military control and warn that such messaging is a “political sin” damaging national cohesion.
Trump’s naval blockade was a masterstroke, triggering infighting and deep divisions within the Islamic Republic and potentially weakening it while opening opportunities for the Iranian people to rise and prevail.
Looking at just the evidence from Iran, it’s hard to say who is winning this power tug-of-war. Nobody is getting paid, apparently, because the finances have dried up and inflation is through the roof. The IRGC is cut off from its financial lifelines, but they still have all the guns save for those in the army’s hands, and who knows what they will do?
Utterly beyond parody. We absolutely cannot go back to the status quo with these feckless freeloaders, who now have the chutzpah to claim credit for Trump’s operation, which they sneered at and refused to assist with when we actually needed them. https://t.co/ktC7T53aX3

But there is an interesting signal worth paying attention to: the Euroweenies are talking tough about Iran, making demands. And if we know anything about Europeans, they only talk tough like this when they feel like they are getting in front of a parade, not leading one. They got tough on the Ukraine War when Biden pushed them and started pouring in the aid, freeing them from any responsibility for actually doing anything themselves.
In fact, they never quit buying Russian oil and gas. That’s their view of what toughness is: talk big, but avoid any pain or responsibility.
The Germans and the French are talking tough, that’s how you know it’s over. https://t.co/LcNcYleuKi

German Chancellor Merz:
“Iran must end its nuclear program. It must stop attacking Israel and the Gulf states. And it must reopen the Strait of Hormuz reliably, permanently, and without any form of payment.”
The Euros held a virtual meeting about the Iran situation, and to give you an idea of how performative it was, Keir Starmer took a plane to Paris to participate in a Zoom meeting. Just so he could get a good photo.
Starmer is flying abroad for a zoom call. This shows the irony of net-zero & reduce carbon emissions endorsers.
Happy to make everyone’s harder and poorer whilst the rules don’t apply for them.
Where are all the climate change fundamentalists?! https://t.co/dGAPkELTm0

Throughout the war, the Euroweenies have been boasting that this isn’t THEIR war, but now that it appears on the brink of being over, they all want a piece of the glory.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE 🤣
AFTER President Trump announced Iran agreed to RE-OPEN the Strait of Hormuz…
… UK PM Keir Starmer announced the UK and France are “leading” a “MILITARY MISSION” to re-open the Strait of Hormuz
These people are WORTHLESS 😂🤡

After Trump announced a ceasefire, Starmer flew to the Middle East to meet with the troops and take credit for the whole thing. The photo op there was bad. Really bad.
This soldier’s face says it all 🤦🏼♂️
Keir Starmer: “I’ve got a bold new defence plan!”
Soldier: “Not this clown again…”The man who wanted to scrap Trident turning up for a photo-op.
Army morale: lower than Starmer’s poll ratings 🤣 pic.twitter.com/DKwy4LdfMk

These guys are desperately trying to puff up their feathers now that the shooting has ended, or appears to have. And since we have to assume that they have some insider information from their own intelligence guys, it could be that they are betting that Iran capitulates before they have to do anything serious.
BREAKING: Sir Keir Starmer has said reopening the Strait of Hormuz is a ‘global necessity and responsibility’.
European leaders have been meeting in Paris to discuss the waterway which Iran has claimed is now “open”

So, the signals are mixed from Iran, and we have to assume that much of what Trump says is jawboning, so taking it literally is dangerous. But when the cowards start coming out of the woodwork to look tough, things really could be near an end.
