The Jacksonville Jaguars are making a long-term investment in one of their emerging offensive playmakers.

Jacksonville has agreed to a three-year contract extension with tight end Brenton Strange worth up to $48 million, including $25 million in guaranteed money, according to multiple reports.

The agreement keeps the former second-round draft pick under contract through the 2029 season.

Strange has steadily developed since entering the NFL out of Penn State in 2023.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

After spending much of his rookie campaign behind veteran Evan Engram, he took on a much larger role over the past two seasons and rewarded the Jaguars with consistent production.

Sources: The #Jaguars and standout TE Brenton Strange have agreed to a 3-year extension worth up to $48M with $25M guaranteed — per his agents Jim Ivler, JR Roggio, and Jon Perzley of @SPORTSTARSNYC.

In 2025, the 25-year-old delivered the best season of his career despite missing five games because of injury.

He totaled 46 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns in just 12 appearances, averaging 11.7 yards per catch while becoming a dependable target in Jacksonville’s passing attack.

The extension reflects the organization’s confidence that Strange is entering his prime and can remain a key contributor under head coach Liam Coen.

Jacksonville’s offense thrived when he was on the field last season, further reinforcing his value to the team.

The deal also provides financial security for Strange before he entered the final year of his rookie contract.

At a maximum value of $48 million, the agreement places him among the league’s better-paid tight ends while giving the Jaguars cost certainty at an important offensive position.

Although Jacksonville added depth at tight end during the offseason, the extension makes it clear the franchise views Strange as its long-term starter.

If his production continues to trend upward, both sides could look back on this agreement as a bargain in the years ahead.
