Senator Jon Ossoff is being trolled for seemingly pulling one of the oldest celebrity stunts in the books — calling the paparazzi to put attention on himself.
TMZ shared a video of Ossoff firing back at Donald Trump after the president unleashed a slew of insults at him on Truth Social, but the clip didn’t land. It began with Ossoff exiting a vehicle and swiftly leaning into the interview in a seemingly scripted moment that seemed too fluid to be real. There wasn’t a single vehicle near his — but the reporter was poised and positioned to capture the perfect shot.
Ossoff just-so-happened to have a very structured speech ready to go, and the internet wasted no time poking fun at the situation.

Celebrities have long been known to call the paparazzi on themselves to stage their own mini photoshoots and press conferences, and Ossoff seems to have taken a page from that book.
TMZ’s interviewer asked Ossoff to comment after Trump called him a “failed Dumocrat” and referred to him as “Os(jerk!)off,” and he launched right into a well-oiled response that seemed far too crafted given the circumstances.
“He is a disgrace to the presidency,” Ossoff said about Trump.
He continued, “Humiliated on the world stage by his failed war, raking in billions for himself and his family while he makes you pay more for gas, for groceries, and for healthcare,” he said.

Then came the shameless plug.
“And if you wanna help me defeat his Trump-puppet opponent, it’s ElectJon.com,” Ossoff said.
He proceeded to ignore every question asked by the reporter, and kept repeating the same messaging he was intent on getting across.
“What I care about is that we have a disgrace for president, humiliated globally…” he continued, before throwing in another shameless plug and recycling his story on repeat.
Throughout the video, it was evident that this was a one-on-one interaction, and no other reporters were milling about in anticipation of Ossoff’s arrival — the latter being a common feature of a typical Capitol Hill media scrum.
That wasn’t lost on social media users, who poked at the senator relentlessly online.
“This was so fake, staged, and scripted. TMZ = fake news trash,” Catturd wrote on X.
“This [sic] what you call ‘on message,’” another social media user said. (RELATED: Luigi Mangione Reportedly Poised To Move Forward With Extreme Emotional Disturbance Defense)
Other comments included, “Wow, his repeat, robotic response didn’t come close to being ‘off the cuff.’ I wonder how many times they shot it before deciding on this piece of cinema,” and “I love all the fake encounters that try to appear random. Ossoff’s team coordinated with TMZ and almost certainly knew the question that was coming.”
Another person said, “Well, TMZ just destroyed what shred of credibility they may have had. 🤣🤣🤣I just want to know if they wrote the script or if Ossoff did. Propoganda [sic] much?” while someone else noted, “You can literally see his eyes reading the script lol 😂.”
