Sydney Sweeney has clapped back at critics of “Euphoria” while sharing bold behind-the-scenes photos to celebrate the show’s finale, as reported by Page Six.
The actress, 28, posted a carousel of images on Instagram on May 31 alongside the caption, “It’s called… acting.” The photos were taken on the set of the HBO series and featured Sweeney posing provocatively, some showing her wearing little to nothing.
Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard, has faced scrutiny for her character’s sexualized storylines. In the latest season, Cassie joins OnlyFans and shares an explicit scene with a movie star played by Homer Gere.
The new episodes continue the trend of pushing boundaries that began early in the series. Sweeney’s performance often sparks conversation among fans and critics alike due to the intensity and explicit nature of her scenes.
Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement
In Season 1, Cassie’s storyline included a controversial carousel moment witnessed by onlookers. Season 2 followed with a scene of Cassie nude on a bearskin rug. Season 3 built on that reputation with new topless and near-nude sequences.
While the attention hasn’t always been flattering, Sweeney’s post made clear she takes pride in her work and views criticism of it as misplaced. Her sharp one-line caption seemed aimed at those who question her commitment to acting.
A source close to the actress told Page Six that Sweeney’s boyfriend, Scooter Braun, completely supports her career choices. The music executive reportedly has “no issue” with her risqué HBO scenes.

“Scooter has absolutely no issue with Sydney’s more provocative scenes in ‘Euphoria’ or any of the work she does as an actress,” the insider said. “He fully understands that it’s part of her job and respects how dedicated she is to her craft.”
The source added that their relationship remains strong and trusting. “Their relationship is very secure, and there’s a strong level of trust between them,” the insider continued.
“Scooter isn’t the type to feel threatened by her work or try to control what roles she takes on. He’s incredibly supportive of her career and proud of everything she’s accomplished.”
Braun, 44, recently appeared on the “Second Thought” podcast, where he shared his thoughts on the new season of “Euphoria.”
“I am catching it. I’m biased, I like it,” he said, adding playfully: “[There’s] been an incredible performance by a certain actress.”
Between the confident caption, daring photos, and supportive remarks from Braun, Sweeney seems unfazed by public criticism. Her post doubled as both a celebration of the hit show’s finale and a defiant message to detractors.
As “Euphoria” wrapped its third season, Sweeney used the moment to highlight her unapologetic artistic choices — reminding fans and critics alike that, as she wrote, it’s simply acting.
