There have been a number of cases where black people have died by hanging, and the racism-industrial complex keeps pumping out propaganda tying those deaths to an epidemic of lynchings.
Aryanna Presley and AOC have both pushed the idea that lynching is becoming an epidemic, and media reports keep talking about the race of the people found hanging, but not the circumstances that led to their deaths.
This year, there have already been 10 reported hangings of Black people in the U.S.

It is also complete crap. Not true. Never happened. Almost every single one of these cases has been a suicide, and the one bona fide murder, where the race of the victim is identified but not that of the perpetrators, has a black woman being killed by multiple black men.

The “modern-day lynchings” meme is, as is so often the case with racially divisive issues, entirely founded on a hoax. And the only reason why these hoaxes work and proliferate is clear: Pravda wants it that way. They write story after story implying that lynchings are happening, and amplify the accusations without exactly making them themselves.

The thing is, this is a great Narrative™ for the Democrats. They feel their grip on the black vote slipping away, and blacks are among the least likely to welcome open borders, so the smart political move is to distract from Democrat policies and run the fear campaign.

It’s an “epidemic,” as we have learned in recent years; Democrats love to use the language of epidemics to justify themselves, their policies, and to smear their political opponents.
In many cases, the lack of evidence of foul play is portrayed as evidence; obviously, there is a massive conspiracy to cover up the lynchings, as happened at the height of the lynchings a century ago.

Lynchings are, without question, moral horrors. This makes the casual accusation based on false evidence all the more evil. When the AOC Left trots out this false accusation, they are crossing a moral line by generating racial fear and hatred for their own political purposes.
This isn’t reporting, but narrative creation.

Now I expect slimy politicians to engage in these gutter tactics. Aryanna Presley is a disgusting human being. But what sticks in my craw is just how willingly the media engages in the same dishonest framing. They could lower the temperature by calmly reporting the facts, but instead they do the opposite. They fan the flames.
By now I can’t claim that I am totally surprised, but however cynical I am about the media, I still have a reflexive habit of hoping they really aren’t self-consciously engaging in a politically motivated lie. Perhaps they are just inclined by ideology to suspect things that aren’t true.
But no, they have the facts, and still write the stories to gin up the hate. They know what they are doing, and are doing it self-consciously and with malice aforethought.

Think of how much effort has been put into “fact checks” about Trump’s hyperbole about things like crowd size, or in-depth investigations into the ballroom. They are on these stories like a dog with a bone, getting to the bottom of the 39,866 “lies” told by Trump about trivial matters.
But AOC and Aryanna Presley push out absolute lies and…they fan the flames, knowing that it is a hoax.
No matter how much you hate these people, it is not nearly enough.
Worst of all, the next time it happens, I will still be outraged because I am programmed to expect better, and I can’t shake my hope that there are still decent people in the media. I keep getting disappointed.
