Trump Answers His Supporters’ Calls, Will Hit The Road Again On Countrywide Tour

President Donald Trump is planning on touting his economic agenda with a year-long tour across the country, a White House official confirmed to the Daily Caller.

After the 2025 November elections, affordability has been a key campaign point for Democrats as the GOP strategizes how to address the issue. Trump will begin his tour on Tuesday in Pennsylvania, a White House official told the Caller.

Axios first reported the news Thursday, adding that sources tell them the president will push back against claims that everyday essentials are no longer affordable.

The president addressed concerns over affordability during a Tuesday cabinet meeting, calling it a “Democrat scam.” Trump said that while Democrats have campaigned on affordability, they don’t actually want to fix the economy.

“I think they are getting fake news from guys like you. Affordability is a hoax. It was started by Democrats, who caused the problems of pricing. And they did not end it,” Trump told a Fox Business reporter before recounting how he was elected because affordability was a problem.

“So we are bringing prices down. Way down. Beef is coming down now. We have done certain magic. Beef is coming down. We inherited horrible prices. We inherited really the worst, again, the worst inflation in history. We inherited that. When I came in, that was what he had and we fixed inflation. And we fix almost everything if you want to know the truth, including eight wars,” the president continued.

According to a Politico poll published Thursday, 46% of Americans said the cost of living in the U.S. is the worst they can ever remember. Approximately 37% of people who voted for Trump in 2024 agree with this sentiment, the poll shows. The poll surveyed 2098 adults from Nov. 14-17th. The margin of error was 2%.

Former President Joe Biden also toured around the country and touted his economic agenda, known as “Bidenomics.” As Americans’ feelings towards the economy soured, Biden and his White House abandoned the term after they tried to convince people the economy was better than what they were experiencing. After Democrats scored victories during the 2025 elections, Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair told Politico the GOP would focus on affordability for the 2026 midterm elections.

“The president is very keyed into what’s going on, and he recognizes, like anybody, that it takes time to do an economic turnaround, but all the fundamentals are there, and I think you’ll see him be very, very focused on prices and cost of living,” he told Politico.
