President Donald Trump and other senior administration officials were evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night after loud sounds were heard, according to C-SPAN video footage.
There was several loud bangs and the Secret Service with guns drawn rushed the pool out of the room, Washington Times reporter Jeff Mordock, as part of the White House press pool at the event, reported. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was seen limping after the incident, according to Mordock.
Trump, who survived two assassination attempts in the 2024 campaign, was evacuated as the ballroom became “chaos” according to CNN. The suspect is being detained and the plan is for the dinner to resume, Fox News reported.
