Fox News commentator Charlie Hurt and OutKick founder Clay Travis highlighted what they described as President Trump’s major accomplishments during his first year back in office, pointing to foreign policy breakthroughs, economic growth, and improved public safety while contrasting those results with what they called the failures of the Biden-Harris administration.

The discussion took place during a Fox News segment reacting to recent images from Mar-a-Lago and international developments involving President Trump.

Hurt opened by comparing Trump’s record to that of former President Joe Biden, particularly on foreign policy.

“Now let’s bring in outkick.com founder, Clay Travis, great to see this evening, clay,” Hurt said.

“You know, it’s really interesting to look at these images today out of Mar a Lago, and think about the previous administration. You had Joe Biden, who is probably the most experienced and qualified foreign policy expert diplomat that has ever been invented by Washington, DC, and he managed to screw up everything he touched in the world, including allowing two new wars to start, and handing massive swaths of countryside where we lost our own blood and treasure for 10 years, over 20 years, over the Taliban, what is it about President Trump that allows him to be so much so brilliant at this game where the greatest expert was such a monstrous failure?”

Travis responded by crediting Trump’s approach to dealmaking and coalition building, arguing that it has driven recent diplomatic progress.

“Because ultimately, Trump understands that getting peace is about making deals and building coalitions,” Travis said.

He referenced moments of bipartisan acknowledgment of Trump’s foreign policy team.

“And I was struck when you showed the clip earlier Charlie on the on the show where Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were even praised a bit by MSNBC,” Travis said.

Travis said Trump’s leadership style has empowered others to negotiate successfully and produce tangible outcomes.

“It’s because Trump not only is a builder and a deal maker, he’s enabling builders and deal makers to get deals done,” he said.

Travis went on to praise Trump’s overall performance, calling it historically significant.

“I really legitimately feel like Charlie, we are seeing the greatest first year presidency in any of our lives,” he said.

He pointed to international recognition and economic indicators as evidence.

“I mean, when you consider the number of peace deals that Trump has brought around the world. We’re getting closer and closer. In Ukraine, the president of Netanyahu just came and gave Trump the first award in 80 years to a non Israeli,” Travis said.

Travis contrasted that recognition with past media portrayals of Trump.

“Remember, for 10 years, we’ve heard Trump was Hitler,” he said.

He also cited economic and public safety data. “If you look at the growth rate, 4.3% if you look at inflation, 2.7% all time, record highs in the stock market,” Travis said.

“Nobody is even talking about this. Murders are going to decline 20% this year. Trump has saved 1000s of lives of Americans, and the economy the border is completely shut down.”

Travis expressed frustration that Trump’s achievements are not receiving more attention.

“I just don’t think we’re getting enough recognition for what has been accomplished,” he said.

“And when I saw both of these with Netanyahu and with Zelensky, it just further epitomizes Trump’s incredible first year, 2.0.”

Hurt agreed, emphasizing Trump’s practical mindset.

“And you know, Clay, I think you put your finger on the most important thing, and that is that he’s a builder,” Hurt said.

Hurt likened Trump’s approach to real-world construction.

“You can’t put like a brick on thin air. You actually have to put a brick on another brick, and you’ve got to get them to hold you have to deal with reality,” he said.

According to Hurt, Trump’s leadership reflects that realism.

“Everything about Trump is dealing with reality and building something out of it that can withstand the realities of physics and science,” he said.

Hurt questioned whether history will ultimately recognize Trump’s record.

“But it does kind of make me wonder whether or not, in time, we won’t see more people like the guy on MSNBC starting to reckon, Will history give trump the credit that he deserves,” he said.

Travis said he believes historical reassessment is inevitable but will take time. “Yes, 100% I wish we could read the history books from 100 years from now,” Travis said.

He predicted Trump’s political resilience will become iconic.

“They’ll be writing about the 2024, election, the fight, fight, fight response of Trump will become iconic after everybody watching this right now is dead,” Travis said.

Travis argued that cultural hostility toward Trump has delayed recognition of his achievements.

“I think it will take generations for Trump to get credit for what he has accomplished, and that’s because so many people have Trump Derangement Syndrome, and their brains are broken and they refuse to acknowledge all of the positivity that’s going on,” he said.

He concluded on an optimistic note.

“I can’t imagine things going much better. I don’t about you, but I can’t wait for 26,” Travis said.

Hurt closed the segment by echoing that sentiment.

“Yeah, and I think you’re right. It’ll take the passing of every single TDS journalist to go by the wayside before history starts to recognize Trump for who he is,” Hurt said.

“Clay Travis, great to see you tonight and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.”
