Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson responded after President Donald Trump publicly said the longtime media figure has “lost his way” and is no longer aligned with the MAGA movement, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The remarks from President Trump came during an interview with ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl, where the president addressed Carlson’s criticism of recent U.S. military strikes against Iran.

“Tucker has lost his way,” Trump said. “I knew that a long time ago, and he’s not MAGA. MAGA is saving our country. MAGA is making our country great again. MAGA is America first, and Tucker is none of those things. And Tucker is really not smart enough to understand that.”

The exchange followed Carlson’s recent criticism of the U.S. military operation targeting Iran. Carlson publicly condemned the strikes, calling them “absolutely disgusting and evil.”

According to reports, Carlson had also visited the White House several times in recent weeks before the operation took place. The visits were reportedly aimed at urging President Trump not to move forward with military action related to Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

The strikes against Iran have been described as targeting the regime’s military capabilities and came as part of broader tensions involving Tehran and U.S. allies in the region, including Israel.

Carlson’s public comments criticizing the operation marked a sharp break from the messaging of many supporters of the administration’s national security strategy.

In addition to condemning the military action, Carlson also raised claims tying the strikes to broader conspiracy theories involving the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and alleged plans to “rebuild the Third Temple.”

The public disagreement between Trump and Carlson represents a notable shift after years in which the two figures were closely aligned politically and in media coverage.

During his time hosting a nightly program on Fox News, Carlson frequently promoted policy positions associated with Trump’s America First platform and reached a large national audience.

Trump’s remarks to ABC News came as Carlson’s criticisms of the Iran operation gained attention among commentators and political observers.

Following Trump’s statement, Carlson addressed the situation in comments provided to former CNN reporter Oliver Darcy.

“There are times I get annoyed with Trump, right now definitely included,” Carlson said.

He added:

“But I’ll always love him no matter what he says about me.”

The exchange has drawn attention across political media circles as both men remain influential voices among conservative audiences.

For years, Carlson’s broadcasts and commentary were widely viewed as supportive of Trump’s policy agenda and political message.

The current disagreement reflects a divide among some commentators over foreign policy, particularly regarding the question of military engagement against hostile governments.

Some voices within conservative media have backed strong military action against Iran’s regime, while others have argued for a more restrained approach to foreign conflicts.

The dispute between Trump and Carlson highlights those competing viewpoints as the debate over U.S. policy toward Iran continues.
