The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that all Iranian naval vessels stationed in the Gulf of Oman have been sunk as Operation Epic Fury entered its third day.

According to CENTCOM, American forces targeted and destroyed a total of 11 Iranian ships in the Gulf of Oman. Additional strikes on Iranian targets in the Persian Gulf have also been widely reported.

Video footage released by CENTCOM showed the destruction of the IRIS Jamaran, an Iranian anti-submarine frigate that became operational in 2010.

The vessel was struck and sunk while docked at Konarak Naval Base.

The IRIS Jamaran had served as part of Iran’s naval fleet for more than a decade and was classified as an anti-submarine frigate.

Footage of the strike depicted the ship taking a direct hit while in port before being submerged.

Also destroyed during the operation was the IRIS Shahid Bagheri, a vessel converted from a cargo ship into a UAV carrier.

The ship was launched in February of last year, according to publicly available information from Iranian sources.

The Iranian admiralty had previously stated that the IRIS Shahid Bagheri was capable of operating “guided subsurface vessels.”

At the time of its destruction, the vessel is estimated to have been located in the Persian Gulf.

CENTCOM did not immediately release additional operational details regarding the strikes beyond confirming the destruction of the vessels and the broader mission objectives.

President Donald Trump and the White House reiterated Monday that one of the primary strategic goals of Operation Epic Fury was the total destruction of Iranian naval forces.

The confirmation followed the release of combat footage and damage assessments indicating that Iranian naval assets in the Gulf of Oman had been eliminated.

Operation Epic Fury began earlier this week and involves coordinated U.S. military action against Iranian military targets.

The operation entered its third day as CENTCOM provided updates on naval engagements and outcomes in the region.

The Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf are critical waterways for global shipping and regional military operations.

The reported sinking of 11 Iranian ships in the Gulf of Oman represents a significant escalation in maritime combat activity.

In addition to the destruction of vessels in the Gulf of Oman, other strikes targeting Iranian military positions in the Persian Gulf have been reported, though specific details about those engagements have not been publicly disclosed.

The IRIS Jamaran had been operational since 2010 and was considered a core component of Iran’s surface fleet.

Its sinking at Konarak Naval Base marked one of the most visible moments in the naval phase of Operation Epic Fury.

The IRIS Shahid Bagheri, converted from a commercial cargo ship into a UAV carrier platform, had been introduced into service last year.

Iranian officials had described it as capable of deploying guided subsurface systems.

CENTCOM has not released casualty figures or additional information regarding the status of Iranian personnel aboard the ships at the time of the strikes.

The White House statement on Monday emphasized that dismantling Iran’s naval capabilities remains central to the ongoing mission.

Operation Epic Fury continues as U.S. forces carry out objectives across multiple domains, including maritime targets.

Further updates are expected as military officials continue to assess damage and provide additional operational information.
