Conservative commentator Scott Jennings pushed back forcefully during a televised panel discussion after Parkland activist Cameron Kasky attempted to tell him what words he was permitted to use while discussing immigration.

The exchange unfolded during a heated on-air segment in which Kasky, a Democratic activist, confronted Jennings over his use of the term “illegals” when referring to individuals who entered the United States unlawfully.

Kasky directly challenged Jennings during the discussion, asserting that the term should no longer be used.

“You don’t get to say the word illegals anymore,” Kasky told Jennings.

Jennings immediately responded to the remark, questioning Kasky’s authority to impose language restrictions on him.

“I don’t?” Jennings replied.

As the exchange continued, Kasky attempted to shift the discussion toward broader talking points. Jennings, however, interrupted and directly addressed Kasky’s attempt to dictate his language.

“Who are you to tell me what I can and can’t say? I’ve never met you, brother. I can say whatever I want. They’re illegal aliens — and that’s what the law calls them. Illegal aliens. That’s what I’m going to call them,” Jennings said.

Kasky then argued that the term “illegals” should not be used because Immigration and Customs Enforcement was allegedly “targeting legal citizens,” a claim that Jennings rejected during the exchange.

Jennings continued to press Kasky on how such restrictions on speech would be imposed.

“How are you going to enforce your edict on me, just out of curiosity?” Jennings asked.

Kasky responded by directing personal insults at Jennings rather than addressing the question.

During the exchange, Kasky accused Jennings of being “demented” and claimed he was “doing this on purpose.”

The on-air dispute highlighted broader disagreements between the two figures over immigration enforcement and the language used to describe individuals who enter the country illegally.

Jennings repeatedly returned to the point that the term “illegal alien” appears in federal law, while Kasky focused on the social and political implications of the terminology.

Following the interview, Jennings addressed the exchange in a post on X, reiterating his position and expanding on his criticism of what he described as attempts by the political left to regulate speech.

“How are you going to enforce your edict on me, just out of curiosity?” Jennings wrote.

“That’s the thing about the left – deep down, they believe they should decide who gets to speak and what everyone can and cannot say. F**k. That.”

The confrontation quickly circulated online, drawing attention to the clash between Jennings and Kasky and reigniting debate over free speech, immigration terminology, and political discourse on television.
