‘Why Is Everyone So Horny Here?’: GOP Rep From Alleged Groping Scandal Tells Colleagues To ‘Find Jesus’

Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert asked why her colleagues were “so horny” Thursday outside the U.S. Capitol days after two disgraced, now-former congressmen resigned.

The congresswoman asked the question after former Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwell and former Republican Texas Rep. Tony Gonzales formally resigned Tuesday following allegations of sexual misconduct. Boebert suggested her colleagues needed to attend church and “find Jesus” moments before. Notably, the congresswoman was at the center of her own controversy after being caught in an alleged public groping scandal with her then-boyfriend in 2023. “Yeah, go to church. Find Jesus. Like, why is everybody so horny here?” she asked in front of the press before walking off.

In September 2023, Boebert was caught allegedly groping and being groped by a man identified as her then-boyfriend in a Denver, Colorado, theater on surveillance video. He allegedly groped her breasts while she did the same to his groin, according to the footage. The congresswoman said she assumed “exclusive responsibility” for the incident and would not be going out with the man, identified as Quinn Gallagher, TMZ previously reported.

“It’s always hard whenever there’s gravity put on the voters. I’m here to provide levity and lift burdens off of people, so anytime they’re carrying mine, it’s something that I kind of feel deep inside,” she told the outlet before claiming future dates were canceled.

Swalwell announced he was resigning on Monday as pressure mounted following multiple women coming forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against him. A former staffer claimed he began intimate contact when she was not able to provide consent. Gonzales also announced he was leaving Congress on Monday. In March, the House Ethics Committee launched an investigation into the representative over allegations of sexual misconduct connected to a staffer and claims he inappropriately granted preferential treatment in his congressional office.

The Daily Caller reached out to Boebert’s office for further comment on her statement.
