Decision Desk Calls GA Senate Runoff (Update: Jackson Wins)

As I write this only 57% of the vote has been tallied in the Georgia GOP Senate runoff between Mike Collins and Derek Dooley. As Ed pointed out earlier, Collins was endorsed by Trump while Dooley was endorsed by Gov. Kemp. At the moment, Collins has a decent lead which seems to be growing as more rural votes come in. In any case, Decision Desk has seen enough. They called the race for Collins shortly after 8 pm.

There are once again a bunch of stories about whether or not Trump’s endorsements have any impact on these races, but so far the answer seems to be yes.

CNN has now joined Decision Desk in calling the race for Collins.

Both Trump and Kemp endorsed Burt Jones for the gubernatorial race. Jones came into today’s vote trailing his opponent Rick Jackson in the early vote. As I write this with 65% of the vote in Jackson holds a 10% lead over Jones, 55-45. I noticed this suggestions that Jones would need to win today’s vote by about 12% in order to pull of an upset.

Burt Jones needs to win the remaining vote, which is mostly Election Day vote, by 12.4% to win.

Say a prayer for Burt Jones.

The NY Times is reporting that Jones is doing much better in the election day vote. If these figures are accurate then he’s probably winning that by about 10%.

In Georgia’s Republican runoffs, Mike Collins and Burt Jones are performing significantly better in Election Day votes than they did among early voters in their respective primaries. Only about 100,000 election day votes have been reported thus far, compared with roughly 300,000 advance votes, but the the shift is notable…

Jones received around 40 percent of the early vote but is pulling roughly 55 percent of Election Day ballots.

For Jones, the shift could reflect the effect of President Trump’s late endorsement, which came just days before the runoff.

I’m not making a prediction, but Jones appears to be a bit short of what he needs at the moment. No calls in this race yet.

Finally, the tally in the Senate Runoff in Alabama between Barry Moore and Jared Hudson is only just getting started. As I write this on 3% of the vote is in so it’s too early to tell anything. I’ll post updates below as things develop.

Update: The GA gubernatorial race between Jones and Jackson has narrowed, but with 87% of the vote in, Jackson still leads by 6 points.

And in the Alabama race, 40% of the vote is now in and Barry Moore has a big lead, 58%-41%.

Despite this, Jared Hudson is “projecting confidence.”

Jared Hudson has just entered his watch party to cheers and energetic sign waving. Representative Barry Moore is in the lead so far, but Hudson is projecting confidence. “Little dollars stood against big dollars and the people of Alabama fought to make sure, at a minimum, they were represented fairly,” he said.

Here’s why Hudson isn’t giving up yet.

In Alabama, where votes continue to trickle in for the Republican Senate primary runoff, much of the early reports have come from the region that Barry Moore represents in Congress. In Jefferson County, where Jared Hudson is expected to draw much of his support, fewer than 5 percent of votes have been reported so far.

Update: DDHQ has called the GA gubernatorial race for Rick Jackson.

Again, both Kemp and Trump had endorsed his opponent Burt Jones.

Update: Here’s Mike Collins’ victory speech.

Update: And here’s the call in the Alabama race. Barry Moore wins it.

I was hoping to post some results from the Washington, DC mayoral race, but two hours after polls closed there, not a single vote has been counted.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
