All Democratic Promises Are Empty

All Democratic Promises Are Empty

Earlier today, I wrote that there may not be a single expenditure, policy, or organization that Democrats promote that is not, in some way, a scam.

Sure, with the kind of money they spend, a few pennies may go to a good cause, but the purpose of the things they support is to promote Democrats, spread money around to their friends, or harm Republicans. Everything else is window dressing.

As for the window dressing: almost all of it is vaporware, anyway. In a way, it is a great example of postmodernism in action. Why actually do anything when you can just say that you want to or are doing it?

Doing things is so much work, while talking is really kinda fun, spending money is profitable, and getting applause for not doing things is great for the ego.

Empty NYC preschools cost taxpayers nearly $100M in rent alone: ‘Terrible execution’ https://t.co/F90fS083Mc pic.twitter.com/6FHjwNSO8S

The examples of how empty the promises are abound.

I got to thinking about this now because I ran across this story of how New York City spends 9 figures on rent for empty preschools.

They do so because Bill de Blasio promised universal preschool five years ago.

The de Blasio-era scramble to construct 47 “initiative projects” for the then-mayor’s “3-K For All” pet program — giving free full-day care for 3-year-olds — resulted in the slew of “phantom” preschools that remain devoid of students nearly five years after he left office.

The ex-DOE official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the rush job was done without considering whether the chosen buildings were even in neighborhoods with a demand for the free seats.

Personally, the idea sounded terrible to me; giving the government even more access to children, after we have seen how poorly they run the public schools, is about as bad an idea as you can get.

But New Yorkers liked the sound of it, so de Blasio promised it.

Delivering on the promise was completely optional. The people for whom the promise was made are AWFLs, who would never send their kids to a government-run preschool anyway. They just liked the sound of it, as did the landlords who get money for nothing, if not chicks for free.

FYI🚨: Pete Buttigieg will leave his post as Transportation Secretary having spent $7.5 BILLION to build 8 EV charging stations.

His legacy will be squandering billions on something nobody wants, while millions struggle to afford the things they need. pic.twitter.com/RhPO7lwfYe

The Biden administration was masterful at promising things and spending money on things they had no intention of delivering. EV charging stations? No problem! How many do you want? Biden promised half a million.

Pete Buttigieg delivered 7, at a billion dollars a pop. Pete is now the favorite of “moderate” Democrats, who like his geekiness and willingness to promise things they like without all the messiness of having to deliver on anything he says.

“The Biden administration promised people in rural America that they would get reliable access to the internet. But so far, the $42.45 billion Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment program has yet to hook up a single customer.” @Maddie_Rowley_ https://t.co/zJwknamcnU

Rural internet access? You could have done it with Starlink cheaply and quickly, but instead the Biden administration chose to exclude Starlink because…Elon Musk…, and delivered broadband to precisely 0 people.

Not a few. Zero is not a rounding error. They hooked up nobody, with $42 billion at their disposal.

The high speed rail in Gavin Newsom’s California will go down as the biggest case of taxpayer fraud in American history.

Newsom’s high-speed rail is, of course, total vaporware, although that vapor you smell is the billions of dollars in cash going up in smoke and carbon dioxide.

This project is committed to reducing emissions in construction and operations.

It turns out, though, that the CO2 footprint is small nonetheless, because it is only the cash burning that emits much CO2, since complying with climate change laws is easy when you do nothing.

This is the real fraud story in California:

A bipartisan bill in California to audit $24+ billion in homeless spending passed unanimously (72–0 Assembly, 40–0 Senate).

BUT, Gavin Newsom vetoed iT.

He BLOCKED the investigation. https://t.co/X8mBTVDsFl

Homeless spending? As far as I can tell, Blue cities know all about how to spread the money around, and that includes increasing the number of homeless people to ensure that the gravy train for NGOs keeps going forever.

This is where the homeless money in California goes

Democrats gave a NGO $23 MILLION dollars

The NGO used it to buy

– A mansion in Los Angeles
– $125,000 Land Rover
– A second home in Greece

US Attorney’s office says THEY FOUND 12 MORE CALIFORNIA NGOs doing the same thing… pic.twitter.com/Z2Jx4vWAby

“The U.S. Attorney’s office in L.A. says they are actively investigating at least 12 other similar fraud cases here in California.”

So far, we are in year 18 of Gavin Newsom’s 10-year plan to end homelessness, and $24 billion in state dollars have gone into the pockets of his favorite NGOs.

That’s a big success. Because Democrats love vaporware that costs a lot and puts money into their pockets.
