Merz Scolds German Serfs Over Sick Day Slacking When There Are Immigrant Bennies to Support

It’s hard enough to run a welfare state when almost 50% of those claiming the very handsome benefits your social welfare system offers are foreigners living in your country who don’t work to help support it. And, in point of fact, it might even be more than 50% thanks to the other inexplicable thing your country does – hand out citizenship as if it were free train boarding passes. So some of the ‘Germans’ who are on the social benefits dole are almost certain to be any number of Syrians or Afghans, etc., who happened to get in the golden ticket line at the right time.

Only one country in the world has more refugees than Germany

…Colombia holds the top spot globally with 2.8 million refugees, nearly all of whom arrived from neighboring Venezuela. Germany follows immediately as the second largest host state, accommodating 2.7 million refugees.

Germany would likely hold the top spot, but hundreds of thousands of its refugees have already become citizens, which means they no longer hold refugee status. In addition, many have also received permanent residency status, which also removes their refugee status, according to the UNHCR.

The asylum seekers’ benefits have been reduced to 18% below the ‘citizens’ benefits’ (the information for that here, which will blow your mind), but they are still extraordinarily generous. These numbers are for 2023.

New official figures show that more than half a million people in Germany were receiving benefits under the Asylum Seekers’ Benefits Act at the end of 2023 – eight percent more than the previous year.

The number of asylum seekers receiving benefits from the German state continues to grow, official figures show.

As of the end of last year, 522,700 people were receiving standard benefits under the Asylum Seekers’ Benefits Act, Germany’s Federal Statistics Office revealed on Thursday (October 10). This figure corresponds to an eight-percent increase in the number of benefit recipients compared with 2022.

The figures also showed that:

• two thirds of benefit recipients were male, over a quarter minors;
• the most common countries of origin were Syria and Turkey (15 percent each), followed by Afghanistan (11 percent) and Iraq (8 percent); 
• 27,500 recipients, or 5 percent of all recipients, were Ukrainian nationals (Germany hosts more than one million Ukrainian refugees);
• from 2021 to 2022, benefits increased by 22 percent;
• around 275,000 people were receiving special benefits last year, which can be granted in special need situations such as illness, pregnancy and childbirth;
• some 13,000 beneficiaries were only entitled to special benefits.

As we all know, while those who receive these benefits and those who ardently advocate handing them out refuse to acknowledge, none of this is free. No government has a money tree, contrary and unwelcome as that is to progressive money-printing fantasy. A government can pay out lots of cash above and beyond what it actually has on hand, but it does have to have some money coming in, and that, ladies and germs, is where the taxpayer comes in. The working-class stiff who slogs it out day in and day out, for a lifetime. In a European social welfare state, the reward for all those years of labor and onerous taxes is supposed to be one thing – the government takes care of your every requirement in return.

That’s the deal.

The veritable flood of migration with its unassimilated waveriders landing in Germany over the past decade and their easy adaptation to being wards of the state instead of contributors to it has put that system and its implied promise on its ear, financially. When you couple that with the disastrous German Energiewende policies that have decimated citizens’ budgets and the once-mighty German industrial base, leading to the inconceivable toppling of Germany from the top ranks of world manufacturing, their economy is on very shaky ground indeed.

All this, plus now the added pressure from Brussels to take on massive loans to rearm a German military machine that has languished as climate cultist governments pursued windmills, carbon credits, and unicorn farts, there are no euros left to be plucked from a barren money tree.

Predictably, the German government of inept Chancellor and Skeletor doppelganger Friedrich Merz is not accepting any blame or attempting any radical revisions in either the asylum benefit or green energy arena to address the shortfalls and begin the long, painful climb out of the basement.

Oh, no.

In the best tradition of ancient European nobility, the serfs who metaphorically till Teutonic fields to pay for it all will receive double the whippings until morale and efficiency improve the bottom line.

We know this is a tough decision. But we can no longer afford this competitive disadvantage caused by prolonged absences from work.

You see? The competitive disadvantage the German nation faces has nothing to do with sky-high electric rates, or a lack of reliable, dispatchable electricity to begin with, nor does it have anything to do with the Byzantine, authoritarian laws, rules, and regulations that multiply year after year like malevolent tribbles, sucking the very life out of any business enterprise.

…Thanks to the German energy transition, we are now experiencing the finale of deindustrialization and the destruction of our prosperity. The fact that China builds PV, wind turbines, batteries, and electric cars with cheap coal power and without CO2 restrictions has its own irony.

It’s the German ser…sorry. Workers who have stripped the once vaunted German industrial juggernaut of its ‘competitive’ edge because they called in sick without seeing a doctor on day one.

Now, if they call in for a week, or even three days in a row? Well, I don’t know that there isn’t an employer on earth that wouldn’t expect some sort of medical authorization for that.

But the first day, to have to haul yourself out of bed and go stand in line at a clinic with God knows what else floating in the air there, for God knows how long?

Wow.  It makes no sense, especially since there was already a teleconsultation requirement in most instances, which Merz has now rescinded.

Berlin aims to reverse prolonged workplace absences to restore economic growth amid escalating international competition and a deteriorating domestic economic outlook.

Those socialized healthcare clinics were already fun. I can’t imagine now. According to this ex-pat website, it can take 2-4 days depending on your health insurance and whether a doctor has walk-in hours.

German doctors are already asking the chancellor if he, like, thought this out at all before he issued his edict.

…The adjustment has drawn sharp domestic criticism. Markus Blumenthal-Beier, head of the German Association of General Practitioners, labeled the change “absolutely catastrophic” for its potential to clog the healthcare system.

The enforcement of first-day medical reporting forms part of a broader macroeconomic strategy designed by the conservative-led coalition to optimize public finances.

Someone said it’s reminiscent of the days when the Stasi would show up at your door to ask why you weren’t at work.

Then there was a more sinister comparison that rang true.

What’s happened across Europe is unfathomable. Instead of ridding the continent of the grunts, who arrive and don’t work, they just destroy the cart horses.

I’ve been sitting in this chair, writing and watching for three and a half years now, wondering when the ‘cart horses’ would get tired as the abuse piles up on the average citizen from all sides. 

I keep wondering what happens when they do.

If they even have it in them.
