Two teenage boys were killed and five others were wounded in a shooting near a park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Monday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a 17-year-old male, identified as Erubey Romero Medina, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, a 16-year-old male identified as Daniel Jimenez Millian, was located farther inside the park and was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said seven people in total were struck by gunfire during the incident.
Five additional victims were located in the parking lot at 3474 Robinhood Road.
All five had sustained gunshot wounds, with injuries ranging from critical to minor.

The injured victims include a 14-year-old female, a 15-year-old female, a 17-year-old female, an 18-year-old male, and a 19-year-old female.
Authorities said the names of the juveniles will not be released.
The name of the adult victim is also being withheld due to a pending investigation into their involvement.
Preliminary information from investigators indicates that some of those injured may have also been involved in the shooting.
Police said the incident was isolated and did not occur on school grounds.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation confirmed it is assisting with the case.
Agents responded to the shooting near Robinhood Road, close to Jefferson Middle School.
Authorities said the shooting itself did not occur on school property but inside Leinbach Park.
Officials confirmed that Jefferson Middle School remained open and operating as normal. Mt. Tabor High School was also placed on a secure hold, though classes continued.
Authorities said the incident stemmed from a planned fight between two young individuals.
Officials stated the situation was not classified as an active shooter call for service.
Investigators said several individuals, including both victims and suspects, have been identified and located, though some suspects remain outstanding.
Due to the number of people involved, authorities said efforts are ongoing to account for everyone connected to the incident. Officials also confirmed that some of those involved are juveniles.
Law enforcement has asked the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues. Leinbach Park has been closed until further notice.
Robinhood Road remains open but is experiencing heavy traffic.
Road closures were reported at Norman Road at Robinhood Road and at Sally Kirk Road at Norman Road.
Officials provided instructions for parents regarding school procedures during the investigation.
At Mt. Tabor High School, officials said there was no need for parents to pick up students.
For those who choose to do so, they must bring a photo ID and report to the front door.
At Jefferson Middle School, classes continued as normal. Parents picking up students were directed to follow a designated route, taking Peace Haven to Millhaven to Tallison to Thornhill and entering through the car rider line entrance.
